Hitzlsperger

I thought he looked like he really fit in the first half anyway. A couple of mistakes but nothing we didn't contain. He'll cement that spot with more like that.

Went the game,
He reminded me of Claus Thompsen - its not a good memory.

Really slow to the ball and slow on the ball, and when he did make a pass, even a 3 or 5 yard pass, his slowness made the pass obvious to everyone in the stadium.

Yes, he had a decent touch and his shooting was ok, but nowhere near enough to his game.

Big improvement needed. I think the west ham fans may be right, he doesnt have the legs for the premier league.

Probably not true, but I wouldn't mind. Much better than Neville.

It turned out to be true, this lad has given me a few bits of info whoch have all turned out to be true, I will ask him who his source is.

And I despise phil neville, but i dont think hitzlsperger gives us anything better, he looks equally inept.

Think people are being very harsh on him. Considering it was his first game back at this level i think he did well particularly first half.

I meant to add, it didnt help his cause having a very tired looking osman next to him.
And in the second half, a very tired looking osman increasingly drifting over to the right hand side to cover for naismith who seems inept at offering the same cover for coleman that pienaar offers for baines.

Still doesnt change the fact hitzlsperger didnt look up to the job, game passed him by to often with his slow play.
If he didnt have the legs a few years ago when at west ham, then i dont hold out much hope.
At least we can get rid of him cheaply.

It didn't pass him by first half at all. 2nd half maybe but he certainly wasn't the only one. As soon as they scored I thought the whole team looked deflated. If his shot had gone in everybody would be singing his praises.

Very much this. Looked good first half but faded due to lack of match fitness. Pleasantly surprised by how comfortable he looked for 60 mins tbh.

Did a few decent things in the 1st half. Was a shower on corners and so lousy in defense that even Coleman had to bail him out a couple times. Arguably should have given up 2 goals today (not closing down their best striker, giving away a gift free header on a corner).

Its his 1st match and in CM you really have to be in match fitness so I give him a pass. However I think if Nev had a similar performance we'd be all over him.

He's not the answer.. He really isn't. We had to bring someone in and he was all that was available so I understand the reasoning. Given a choice I would have Neville over him starting. Hitzleberger can offer something off the bench replacing tired legs but that's it IMO.

Hopefully gibbo is back very very soon. If not I think the best thing would be to drop fellaini back to DM and bring Barkley back. From there work out if its best for Naismith behind jelavic or maybe Osman/Barkley.

He's certainly not good enough for top 4

Based off of what? The fact that he's played fairly well in a team out of form for the first half of each match before getting knackered? It's not his fault Moyes is incapable of making a sub before we concede a goal after we've scored.
