They said that about Thierry Henry going back to Arsenal and that turned out quite well. Not saying I'm totally for him coming back, but I don't think there's any harm in him coming back and strengthening our bench a little.

Tim Cahill is/was no Thierry Henry. Completely different situations and types of player.
I suppose Cahill would be OK as a sub, but I think we'd be regressing significantly to have him in the starting XI.

Cahill was on the decline as a player for 18months. I very much doubt 4/5months away from the Premier League would have helped. Dont want him back, dont need him back. Be a massive waste of money.

I wasn't saying that they are in any way similar, just in the fact they are legends to a lot of fans for their respective clubs. I agree though that he shouldn't be a starter for us. Then again, if we get hit by a bunch of injuries around January, he might be a decent player to have around to slot straight in if needs must. He knows the system and the players etc

I love Tim, and I'm gutted we never got to say a proper goodbye, but we don't need him and he affects the way we play in a negative way.

It sounds like something Moyes would do but unless Fellaini is injured or sold in January it wouldn't make sense to bring Cahill back as a bench-warmer for 6 matches. Somebody like Stoke would seem like a feasible alternative.

I don't think I could ever go back to the Jag to Cahill hoof tactics now that I've seen another way of life. My universe would implode.
