If Neville was that crap then we wouldn't be sitting in 4th place, however you could look at it another way, and say that if we actually had a decent central midfield then we would probably be top of the facking league!
Like other people have already stated, if we hadn't have had Neville then we would have had Heitinga or Junior playing there instead, both of which are even crapper than Neville, considerably crapper IMO.
A one year extension makes perfect sense.
Quite. For all the naysayers, given our financial situation, who would be there instead? Hopefully Hitzleberger will come good and will take his place sooner rather than later, but realistically, over the last few months who else could we have had there?
Distin has looked better than Heitinga this season, and I can't help but feel that people are looking at Duffy through rose tinted glasses because he's home grown. I'd be surprised if he ever became a first team regular for us.
