Hard to feel sympathy for footballers that go off the straight and narrow.

So much on a plate then invariably they turn into tools, wtf are the parents up to?

Remember seeing him and thinking "not another one" all hype and no substance, it's like the Ajax production line. (the floor cleaner not the football club)

its not on any plate mate. the level i played at was all work and no play- everything has got to go and if youre lucky you make it, not many do because its too much sacrifice so just think on when youre cleaning those floors

7 years does seem harsh imo.
It's not like dealers inject into people's eye balls. People buy drugs because they're fun, this puritanism isn't good for anyone.

At least we can be fairly certain he's not a grass.

Actually it's not harsh. Given the volumes involved he's likely to have had a 'significant' role, and will probably have been category 2. Based on CPS guidelines the starting point would have been 8 years, but his guilty plea will have taken up to 1/3 off his original sentence.

I respect other peoples opinions on here, however there's often a lot more to these things than comes out in court. Not all people who get involved in drugs are scumbags - many are coerced and under pressure. Local lads who 'done good' are often a prime target for these organisations. Personally I hope he uses his time to learn something and can do some good when he comes out.

Shame this, but he deserves it. Looked quick and sharp when he burst on the scene at 18 but it never really happened for him with us. We've had loads of these Chadwick/Jevons/Vaughan level players over the years who were never going to make it with us but who could do a job elsewhere. Wouldn't include Tony Grant in that who I thought was excellent when Kanchelskis was in the team.
