Moyes "clarifies" contract position

Of course hes holding out for a better Club.

Wouldnt we all?

I'm sure Tony Hibbert is holding out for a better club to come in for him but it doesn't mean they're going to, and if Tony Hibbert went into the last year of his contract and came out with the guff that Moyes just did he be vilified.

I'd like to know exactly what it would take to "affect" the players before Moyes suddenly signs the contract. 3 losses in a row? Well whatever it is it seems pretty damn stupid to wait till there is a problem and then solve it intsead of pre emting the problem in the first place and stopping it happening if you were just gonna sign the contract anyway.

Basically moist is acting like a prick over his contract just like he did last time. If you're gonna sign you sign, if you're gonna leave you leave, don't string it out and screw the club in the process.

I can't see much to worry or complain about in that interview. He's just stating the obvious really. He's basically saying 'I've made this team as strong as is humanly possible with fook all investment- now do your part and then we'll talk.' Any of us in his position after 10 years at one club would say the same thing.

dont agree at all mate!

he held out last time and also said the same things but he still signed and nothing changed on the investment side of things! the only thing that did change was his pay cheque!

he is holding out for......

a bigger club

and/or

bigger pay cheque!

just like last time!!!!

If we give him an eight year contract it'd honestly be pretty difficult to motivate myself to give a crap about Everton for the foreseeable future.

As we cannot and will not win anything under Moyes.

I just think Moyes has finally realised he needs to throw his weight around with BK in order for him to "pony up the doe".

Either way, I agree with Goats. If he goes, he goes. No one is bigger than the club. A lot of people keep saying to me he's being groomed for the man u job (usually man u fans). I tell them he is no where near ready for it. He makes too many mistakes both regarding selection and tactically. He can keep "learning his trade" with us with room to make mistakes. My point is he wouldn't get this room at man u and he knows this .

So all things being considered (plus Fergies retirement date) I think he'll be with us next season, unless we turn to s***e or Bill fails to present him with funds in the summer.

-sorry for rambling lads, I haven't had much sleep.

I agree with this. United fans would be mighty miffed if the got DM. I think he's going to push Bill for money or investment. In fact, I recon the only reason we made so many summer signings is because a he's holding the proverbial gun to Kenwrights head.

Moyes signing is the most important thing we need to sort out from our side, we cant let him go and hopefully the players feel the same too.

Moyes is a good manager of certain players but as a coach he is nothing special and I certainly will not be losing any sleep over him leaving, infact depending on the nature of his departure I think it could be the making of us. The man is way too negative.

10 years and no trophy ? Think about it. Should have been last season and not suprisingly he bottled it against the sh*te.

Cheerio David thanksfor everything but close the door on the way out would you

i cant see him walking away after assembling his best squad in years

So true,i cant believe anyone is anything but made up he is suggesting he will re-sign. If we lost Daey Moyes name me the replacement that would continually keep us in the top eight year after year on our very small budget.

best squad but for how long.
how many players over 30 have we got jags, distin neville hibbert osman pienaar with hardly any resale value

Its going to be a difficult task to replace those players for hardly anything, and get them playing the everton way.

Playing the way we are but yet still get this type of crap, I give up hope for some of our fans I really do

We're second in the League, playing the best football we've played in 25 years and still people are not satisified - what's wrong with you?

I received a text from one of Tony Fernandes' friends and a shareholder in QPR tonight saying that we are the model they aspire to and they've no chance in a few weeks time when we play them.

The footballing world know the job Moyes has done and is doing, yet some of our fans still don't - weird!

I'm sorry, but the 'footballing world' also think that Bill Kenwright is a fantastic chairman. The 'footballing world''s opinion is meaningless.

Another way of looking at it: we're just six games into the season, playing in fits and starts, out of one of the two competitions we can mount a realistic challenge in, and the manager has a track record of not handling expectation very well.

Maybe caution is right.
