Should Phil Neville be anywhere near our first team?

we were the better side today until gibson went off. we had so many better options on the bench than bringing hibbert on and pushing captain marvel into midfield. we easily could've dropped fellaini deeper, brought mirallas on, and played one of him, naismith or pienaar off jelavic. in short, moyes' fault today.
yes and erm i forgot the question. the nevster doesnt pick himself so its moylses fault all day long

Before this season i always thought he got a bit too much stick but this season his performances have hammered home that he is no longer up to the task.

Whether it's because he's regressed a lot in recent times, that the players we've signed recently have emphasized is mediocrity or I was just blind to it before I just don't know.

Either way, he really needs to be dropped. Hopefully we'll get that Belgian dude and Gibson's injury isn't bad, otherwise he could really hinder us.

what games you been watching? against utd neville was excellent and was v good v villa and orient dosnt really count today poor but wasnt the only one

no,he should not even be on the bench,he shouts but nobody listens..

EDIT: and ive always said he should not be in the squad, not just because we lost today,we got beat today fair and square.

I love how criticising Neville is "scapegoating", even when people like myself consistently point out how dire he is, even after a win

He's turd, we all know it, it's not scapegoating at all, it's a fact.

Yeah. If we were looking for a scapegoat we'd look at Fellaini. Gash all day, missed a golden chance to score just before they did.

And even worse for the second. Played a gash ball to Baines which caused him to lose posession, stood and shrugged his shoulders as they got a shot away and then from the resulting corner lost his man.

But its n ot really a case of "blaming" a player for a loss, just in Fellainis case pointing out where he was poor when we lost, and in Nevilles case pointing out where he was poor in most games these days.

Cheese on toast any of the lids?

Nah but really it was a dire performance by pretty much the entire team but Neville has looked slow and sloppy even in wins. He looks scared when he's on the ball, his control in terrible, add that into a crowded midfield when you need half decent close control and it's just going to go wrong, his passing ability it pretty poor for him to play there. It's just one of them things where he seems a bit past it now, he's done what he can do, hang them up lad, let someone younger and possibly better have a crack or that new lad we just loaned in.

Anyway blues, I'm still happy with the start we were obviously going to have this happen at one point, I'd prefer it to be like this to then Moyes hopefully shoves a rocket up their arse for the Newcastle game and we play like we did v UTD/Villa
