Its bite the bullet time and just go for it. We're in the best possible postion to progess to be that Champs League/cup final side we can be.

But I think the board knows this and know the position they're in. Moyes has already handed his transfer list to Kenwright so he knows who Moyes has in mind. Kenwright is pissed off the the media speculation about Moyes' contract etc so IMO I think everything will be sorted out for the better (maybe Im just an optimist)

It would be dissapointing if Moyes cant get the funding he needs in an age when Sunderland can splash 40mill without batting an eyelid on [Poor language removed] players. But I have faith

I doubt very much if any team in the world would spend £40M without batting an eyelid! Keep it real mate:D

chelsea have had an initial £40m bid for torres in.......INITIAL......for me thats not batting an eyelid

Mate, £40 million pounds has EVERYONE interested, only because a club like chelsea can triple that does not mean they are not interested in their money. You dont get rich and successful by throwing money away.

What I meant by "batting an eyelid" is that a team like Sunderland, and Derby, and Birmingham didnt seem to have much trouble getting 30-40mill spent in the transfer market on less-than-steller players. Rumours have it Keane will have pretty much the same budget he had last season.

Spending 40mill on 1 player does generate interest. Spending 30-40mill on a team of players is almost the norm for teams in the premiership if/when it needs to be done.

I feel pretty comfortable in saying that we'll have no where near 40M to spend.

I think the 20-25M range is much much more realistic.

You have to remember that we carry a lot of debt and a larger wage bill than those teams, we make more money sure, but most of it is gone before we can spend it. Besides, I'm sure over the last few years we've been one of the bigger spenders in the premiership.

All I hope is that the board backs the plan DM has obviously set before them. He has shown that he is not a manager who will spend just for the sake of it and so I am sure his ambitions will be realistic, how realistic I dont know. If DM has a list of players that will cost 40mill then the board needs to move their asses and find 40mill. If his list costs 15mill, so be it as long as he gets what he wants. Then we can truly judge his performance ...

Only if a Russian oligarch bought the club would we get near that.

I dont believe we have 40mill either. But I'd like to think we have enough to get what Moyesy wants.

Remember, Moyes has said paying £26mill on one player doesnt guarrentee cups/titles etc.

Now, £26 mill on 3 or 4 untapped/proven talant Moyes has an eye wouldnt be a wild estimate the board could give him.

Come on guys, this club has been sufferring enough at the hands of one man trying to have the club all to himself. We need CASH and loads of it in order to attract top class players in order to compete with the very best!!!
Think of it this way and this might upset a few or many or all of you, would any of the players we are looking to buy be able walk into the starting lineup of the top four clubs in england as the table now stands? Yes, I know you will probably tell me that I am being unrealistic making such statements but what are we at EFC trying to achieve? How long are we wanting to take to "build" the club to were we want it to be? Bottom line is that the best players in Europe are demanding high fees and if we cannot pay we just wont get them. I am sick and tired of hearing commentators saying, "Will they be able to do it again next year, maybe ... blah blah blah ..."

its a myth in my opinion that we have to spend loads to get in the top 4.

the team that spends the most dont win the league and the team that spends the least doesnt get relegated.

as long as you have a good team spirit , a good work ethic , good coaching and tactics then you can do well.

everton are proof of that , we got 4th a few years back on very little money.

a good production line of talent from the youth set up will do far more good than breaking the bank trying to buy success.

spurs , newcastle , portsmouth , sunderland etc are following a path which is not sustainable and really doesnt improove there chances of winning anything.

i think middlesborough were the start of the spend big /buy success craze.remember emerson juninho and ravanelli ? 2 cup finals , but no trophies and relegated.

i think that is where i rate moyes the most.he has the balance between buying talent and nurturing talent just about right.
