Yes. He was left high and dry (Davis), having to go back to Fulham and withdraw his transfer request.

Yes mate that's what I was told , that actually damaged us in the market for a bit I think as there was a perception we'd let the player down.

The feller has never had pace. He was found out in the PL. He tried that style he had at Rangers where he'd screen and turn away from opponents. Down here was stripped of the ball by better players no problem, and he had no surge at all to take him away from those predators. Absolutely hopeless. Moyes pursued him like he was a long lost son. It was all a bit embarrassing.

I personally wouldn't of minded him at the time, but £9m would of definitely been ridiculous.

What people seem to sometimes forget is that Moyes record in the transfer market speaks for itself. He can turn average players into good and good players into top quality.

Who's to say that Ferguson B, couldnt have been a hit with us.

Some just want to pick when there is nothing to be picked at.

Davek's spot on about Ferguson like. Imagine he'd been our third most expensive signing ever? Christ.

He looked very, very ordinary at Balckburn.

Don't see anything wrong with pienaar playing for spurs.
We want him to have done a decent pre season so that he is up to fitness and ready to go for the start of the season.
Anybody can get injured at anytime even in training.
The pluses of him playing outweigh the negatives if he doesn't.

i think the problem is we have no money to buy pienaar, Daniel Leavy won't take any bullsh.t at spurs
and will want 5 million and no bullsh.te from billy blue over the price.

Pienaars interview was due to be published tommorrow. They've just tweeted that it's delayed till next week becsuse of circumstances they can't comment on.

Surely he must be saying something about everton and his contract situation, and was expecting it to be solved before friday. Next week then. Come home soon

No, and neither did Moyes second option that summer after the Davis deal fell through: Barry Ferguson. It beggers belief now that Moyes was planning to throw £9M at landing that turkey.

Ferguson was the year after mate - the year we signed Kilbane, McFadds etc. Robbie Savage was plan B to Davis as i remember.

TBF both would have been an improvement on Linderoth and Nyarko.

An older tweet by the guy who did the interview said Pienaar discusses his future in the interview. That's why I've been so interested in it and have plugged it to death in this thread lol.
