2025/26 David Moyes

Why are you talking crap?

Grealish was a FEE to City. Yes, a FEE that Moyes spent.

Rohl was an OBLIGATION. Yes, an OBLIGATION that Moyes committed too.

BOTH of these were deals done in the summer. No matter when the numbers come off the deals were done at £32-35mil.

BOTH of these were done by Moyes.

"We spent less than Burnley" you wrote.

Stop it.

Can you find the part where we paid £15m fee to City for a year of Grealish? Because I can't.

Whatever way its spun, it was a club record amount before a club record wage on Grealish and a chunk of money on Rohl was considered.

Yeah, competitively its not a lot, heck Bournemouth have spent more over the years but its a hell of a lot comparatively to Everton over the previous 4/5 years when we had to sell to make a profit every window before trying to buy the dregs of what's left on klarna.

It wasn't long ago Bournemouth had 2 players against us that cost more than our match day squad. Thats not the case anymore.

Whether the sums are considered high or low for certain posters, thats one thing.

But bare faced lying about the amounts that are in the public domain is just next level.

If someone asks you how much your house costs and you quote a smaller initial downpayment (no mention of the mortgage) as the cost thats apparently the way we 'should' be quoting the Rohl fee.

Paying City a fee which they can use how they wish (in this case a well documented partial payment of Grealish's wages) is akin to those mortgage payments being free.

I'd love to have a house for 20% of the value and free mortgage payments. Just a load of nonsense and lies though.

Also, sadly an obligation to pay Freiburg £20mil and a £12-15mil payment to City would be £32-35mil spent.

You cant count last season. We had 17 points by mid january due to Dyche. Everton accumulated 31 points in the same number of games as they did with the previous manager. Thats why the points tally under him since his return puts him around 7th. Why should he take the blame for Dyche.
With 12 points to still play for i'll be disappointed if we dont reach 50 points at least. Havent done that since Ancelotti 6 years ago.
Moyes isnt the answer anymore but some of the drivel about him in this thread is exhausting lol
Well my opinion is the above as to why there are frustrations, you know like you’ve just spouted your opinion. I don’t see how anything I’ve articulated is drivel. He took a bunch of players over half a season and had them returning a better points per game than what he has this season. What’s that got to do with Dyche??? You inserting Dyche into a conversation about Moyes is absolute bollocks.

Well no it isnt. How can you claim a manager that has taken charge of only 18 games the previous season is comparable to this season. You've taken that to heart to much. The drivel is in general on here. Not your post.
Everton have just had, wether it be flirting hovering or directly involved in last day escapes, 5 years of relegation inserted in. Dunno bout anyone else but i was starting to say i'm sick of this now. Just give me a season of nothing to do with relegation. Mid table. Europe at a push. Well here it is. And now you're claiming its a damp squib. Well how far of a jump was you expecting in one season. Top 6? The title? I dont see anything other than those 3 options. Either another season hoping not to be looking at the bottom 3. Mid table safe. Or pushing for Europe.
I dont think Moyes is the long term answer. But the club had to get away from not having anything to do with relegations first. Might be borng but it was the step that was needed.

Easily your greatest post.

Might as well deactivate your account now.
You don’t trick me that easily..

Presumably people should just agree they'd all be better for Everton than Moyes?
What a bizarre proclamation. You can have any opinion you like on whatever manager you like but you can expect some challenge when you claim nobody in world football is better than David Moyes for Everton football club, or that Everton football club is incapable of attracting someone better than David Moyes.

@davids routinely denigrates any proposed alternatives to Moyes, or simply states they are unobtainable, I assume he thought Ancelotti was unobtainable when we recruited him, whilst saying that Moyes isn't all that. It's a peculiar position to take. I'll ask you and @davids the question that you both seem to like to ask others, if Moyes isn't an amazing manager, who would you reasonably replace him with? If the answer is that there is nobody, not a single person, then the protestation that you're not all that bothered about Moyes starts to seem like a fraudulent statement.

I will suggest Carrick if United don't keep him on.

You knew what was going to happen there, Moomin. Any manager you suggested was going to be unobtainable or vastly inferior to Moyes. It's what they do. Only Moyes would touch the diseased carcass that is Everton FC as far as the zealots are concerned. It's a weird flex as it simultaneously suggests that Moyes is the best manager in the galaxy but also is the only person that will take such an unattractive role and so is the least worst option. It's a tiresome paradox.
It is a subtle shift from his zealots...few weeks ago it was " manager of the year shout", "give him a new contract and money to spend". This week it is " who else would we get" and using cherry picked " facts" to show that Moyes is a better manager. Next week, we will be back to " we are delusional and ungratef.ul and Moyes saved us".
