2025/26 David Moyes

I’ve got the final say if we want to buy a player or we don’t want to buy a player. But I get told by my superiors how much we’ve got to spend and what we’ve got available and I have to work off those thoughts,”
That's not exactly the same thing as having 100% control.
I acknowledge that just like all football managers on the planet he doesn't have infinite funds to spend. Even Pep has a limit to what he can spend. Mate, he literally says he gets the final say on transfers. I'm not sure what more you need. This is a bit of a surreal conversation, to be honest. It's like discussing politics with a Trump supporter.

Won a cup with west ham and they still wanted him gone, Why is he deemed good enough to manage Everton for the foreseeable future? Id get it if he wasn't the exact same manager he was 20 years ago, unfortunately he is.

foreseeable would be another season

let him get goals in this side

and add to jack,illy, etc

we will be better

Wait, what? Unless you see a video of him saying it, it didn't happen? There's direct quotes in multiple publications. You really think there's some sort of multi-publication conspiracy to make Moyes seem more in control of transfers than he really is? Seriously? Nobody cares enough about Everyone Football Club or David Moyes to orchestrate such a conspiracy in the national press. That's some tinfoil hat level stuff there.

See what I mean about bizarre narratives rather than just acknowledging that David Moyes makes an occasional mistake with transfers? It's a sickness.
I've seen too many people being misquoted by the press. If he'd said it apparently on multiple occasions surely it'd be online somewhere.

There's a big difference between a straight yes or no to a transfer or being given a limited choice between player A B or C that other members of a committee propose. I'd imagine Dibling was proposed along with two others that Moyes may not have fancied either but was told he needed to pick one to cover for Afcon. The idea that we can attract another manager for next season who'll have basically what will be this squad suddenly passing the ball forward at every possible opportunity with full backs bombing down the lines zipping in crosses and turning over the top six sides is laughable.

Another excuse for Moyes.

Amazing, considering you're not a fan of him.
