Non League Football

I jibbed off EFC at The Worst Ground in London for Prescot Cables today . It’s odd to look back at how a club miles from where I live (Meols) have got to be as important to me as they are. Anyway we won 2-0 today but it wasn’t enough to avoid relegation back to the NPL West after 2 years at this level. To be honest I thought we’d last one year, but it says a lot that our top scorer this season with eight goals, scored three of them in the best game of this season. All the best to those who follow this thread and still have something to play for, if I don’t see you in Europe with the Blues then let’s hold the flame for proper football.

The cut backs were always going to be dangerous.

Sad really, lots of good people at Cables, but at least you avoid the Anti-Scouse crap at Curzon Ashton next season.

Marine over and out.
Did 35 of the 46 League games, not bad for an Everton season ticket holder.

Spennymoor 1-1 Marine
Att: 1513

1 point for Marine (and probably 3 for me 😂).

Season ends a bit flat, but what an achievement overall. Semi Final of FA Trophy, highest finish for 30 years, highest ranked Merseyside Non League side 2 seasons in a row.

Ref unsurprisingly missed every handball , must have passed the message to Michael Salisbury doing the West Ham game.

Great finish by young Potter and Fin Sinclair-Smith rattled the crossbar with last kick, in what might be (and hopefully its not) his farewell game.

It's the BIGG one!
Noticed this tasty fixture in the Southern League Div One Central play off SF this Wednesday;
Biggleswade FC v Biggleswade Town.

Also seen that Portishead, who finished Second in Div One South have been booted from the play offs by the league and replaced by Bishops Cleeve.
No details given as to why. Portishead finished 18 points clear of Bishops Cleeve in the regular season.
