2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

Seems like sensible bit of business to me,low risk, vastly experienced ,mainly injury free and the bonus of being a goal threat.Along with Pickford will have been here 10 years end of next season.Bad signings seldom last that long so he must be doing something right along the way...

He was a liability to say the least for a few seasons

Again where have you got this “new era” from? We’re nearly 18 months into the “new” ownership and what has given you the impression that they’re about to rip everything up and lead us into some glorious new dawn?

Listen to Kinnear’s interviews. World class manager, hardly any players good enough for Moyes, best in class operators etc. (can’t remember exact wording but it was something like that)

Just doling out extensions to Keane and Gueye and not being able to find a single fullback, centreback, or natural wide right player in the whole of football doesn’t scream raising standards.

It’s all fun and games with Keane until he’s in the first team and with Branthwaite injury record and OBrien at right back that will happen more often than not.

Back four of Tavernier Keane Tarkowski Mykolenko next season.

Extending Keane after his last contract ran out was ridiculous, doing it again is just stupid.

He wouldn’t play for any top half PL team.

Jobs for all the ‘good characters’ at Everton though.

Seriously 10 years, he’d be getting a testimonial. A decade of Michael Keane when he’s been absolute toilet for the majority of it except for a couple of half seasons when he was ‘playing well for him’

Everything wrong with Everton

Let’s extend Dwight whilst we’re at it as well, I’ve heard he’s a dead good lad also.

Tarkowski & Keane hopefully as the experienced heads in the squad.

We can probably see them a bit like Coleman before long. No problem having senior players and I was someone who was calling for us to sign Tarkowski.

If we do get Europe then its logical to have 5 centre backs when Branthwaite may have injury issues.

The key will be who Moyes signs as part of the centre back group. I'd be trying for Max Alleyne from City.

That makes a lot of sense as theres no pressure to play in every game and having senior voices could really help.

If he goes for someone else with experience like Stones then it would make the Keane signing very disappointing.

Interesting that it wasnt an extention trigger, but it was a new contract. Probably lower wages.

They’ll be first choice under Moyes if Branthwaite is out.

They’re probably the slowest pair in the league and pretty rubbish on the ball as well. They’re also a pretty bad partnership with both of them playing better with other players.

We should be running O’Brien and Branthwaite together as first choice but we can’t because there’s not a right back in world football who can play for Everton and Branthwaite’s hamstrings are made of haribo.

I’d of ordinarily been fuming about this, but credit where it’s due, he’s had a good season and not let us down.

As backup, no problemo

We’ll still go into market for a new CB I think, plus I’d see O’Brien in there next season when we finally get our new RB…

My hope is that by giving Keane 1 year, in Moyes eyes he has the experience with him and Tarkowski.

Then he has the next pairing with Branthwaite & O'Brien.

So, he may go for a young signing like he did with Stones before he left last time.

If he signs a young centre back to develop then i can deal with Keane for a season. If he goes for another old head then thats the time for fury.

Ideally we want to bring in a young player to replace Keane in the pecking order over the season and then say adios next summer.

With Tarkowski also being no spring chicken it should be logical.
