@Bungle, Zippy and George would have been more effectiveAs soon as Barry and George came on the writing was on the wall
Just got back and where the hell do I start on that today.
I thought a draw would have been a fair result as we did not create loads, particularly after the equaliser, and they became more dangerous in the final 20 minutes.
I thought the injury to their goalie meant we lost a bit of momentum as there was a 4 minute delay and they had a chance to compose themselves rather than having to kick off immediately when the crowd was rabid after Beto scored.
Barry was woeful and should not play again as his attitude and ability don’t match his own perceived brilliance. McNeill put a really good cross in and he was nowhere near it having made a poor run.
Tyrique George was another passenger when he came on and switching Ndiaye allowed Jones to get a foothold in the game. Would not be signing him based on today’s performance.
Tarkowski had a poor game and Garner was not at his best and then we lost Branthwaite which was a massive blow.
Really annoyed that we did not put that sub goalie under any pressure in the last 40 minutes.
The ref was useless and how VVD,Jones,Slobbagozzyeye and Gakpo escaped a booking is beyond me.
Poor defending for their winner but nothing we haven’t seen before against them…I think we have conceded more last minutes to them than any other team.
So deflating to lose in that manner and then seeing some gloating Kopites in town put the top hat on it.
Up the Toffees.
The ref was bad today but theres no way that was a red card or a pen. But also I do feel like Beto got a foul given in the box against him for doing pretty much the same thing. There's always more lenience for defenders thoughRewatch the foul on Gana from Van bader - it’s a red card challenge.
Rewatch the foul in the box on KDH - Ts a pen all day.
Don’t tell me these refs and the pl are not bent.
We haven’t had a Coleman rallying cry recently. He must be due an interview on the website this week following today’s latest derby failure. He needs to do something to earn his wage.
The 1st one for KDH ?The ref was bad today but theres no way that was a red card or a pen. But also I do feel like Beto got a foul given in the box against him for doing pretty much the same thing. There's always more lenience for defenders though
And we don't have Lukaku
Beto was great and going off then had us at ten men
I'm still at a loss how we were 1 down after 30 minutes to an absolute shambles of a side. Go through their 11, tell me who was playing well for them and you'd need 2 fingers to count.
We dominated, played the better football, had a chance where it was well saved (great save in fact), missed a 1v1 with a dreadful effort, had a goal chalked offside as Jake couldn't check his run whwn he was in acres of space, had players slipping at key moments, yet found ourselves a goal down without them creating anything.
Pickford conceded 2 yet didnt save anything apart from 2 pea rollers at him. They were absolutely crap, yet we somehow (as usual) went to their level and then let them dictate the game for 20 minutes.
Shocking result, very rare you get the chance to put such crap to the sword and we failed yet again.
Looking back at that opening half an hour is painful because it was there for us. Then McNeil does something stupid and the game transformed.
Easy in hindsight but we should have just shut up shop in added time. The chance of us creating something with Barry and George on the pitch had gone. We could've done with hauling the latter off and putting a decent midfield presence in there to shore things up and give us more height from corners.
This was such a key moment in the gameBeto, wtf
Glad I'm not going to Oslo any time soonMy personal positive is that I'm not in the London office this week. Would have been unbearable.
