His role as Manager will and should be looked at in the summer, he will be marked against the expectations from the owners, the use of the funds put into the club. It will ultimately come down to one question, has he achieved the goals that were set..

If the owners decide to move on than we move on.
If they decide to let him see out his contract, then he see's out his contract.
If they offer him a new contract, than he gets a new contract. ( Which too many people on here still don't realise is just a bloody piece of paper that can be ripped apart whenever they want to )

Whichever decision is made in the Summer will down to the owners. NOT YOU !


Everyone here should just want what's best for the club, not what's best for them..
Sadly that will never happen though, to many self obsessive personalities..

Moyes will never have a better opportunity in the rest of his managerial career than to beat that lot today.

In all seriousness though, I wouldn't be surprised if most managers end up with stats like that. Don't forget that Moyes left for 12 years and we ended up with 2 wins in that time so by that metric he was actually better at derbies than what came after.

I thought the first half an hour was good by us. Then we scored and it all went wrong for 15 minutes. Got back into the game after half time and then Barry made it all go wrong again.

Needed some fresh legs in there to help the midfield out. Iroegbunam would've done the job. Don't think there was much we could've done to win the game at that point but should've done more to ensure we didn't lose it.

It’s a fair argument but I don’t really agree. I thought we were quite poor first half but so were they so we were ‘in the game’ but it kind of felt like it was there for the winning and we never really took control at any point. I thought they looked quicker, sharper, and (unforgivably) more aggressive throughout and we just looked half a yard off it all game. To go 45 minutes without committing a single foul in a home derby is genuinely quite incredible - if it’s because you’re so good that the opposition never has the ball that’s one thing but that’s not what happened, we got bullied and they were more physical than us despite our tactical plan seemingly being to be direct. I thought it was a really disappointing performance against probably the most brittle Liverpool side I’ve seen in a long time.

Is there a manager out there who's predominantly managed mid table clubs and had a great record against the better teams though? Surely that's why the likes of us are mid table because these games are difficult to win.

Glasner has a great record for Crystal Palace against them, Bournemouth and Brighton have won at Old Trafford 2 or 3 years in a row. Moyes has played LFC 41 times and beaten them 4 and that is indefensible and laughably poor.

The last home game we played a faltering Chelsea who were at a low ebb and we blew them away practically from the first whistle. Today we played against a brittle Liverpool team and settled for a draw and ended up gifting them a victory.

No- but some managers have the mentality that they set out to win games at against teams with bigger budgets. For example when Bournemouth beat Arsenal last week that was consecutive away wins against them. By contrast, Everton have only won twice at Arsenal since the Premier league started.
You can make an argument we were unlucky with the injuries to Beto and Branthwaite today, but in a bigger picture of Moyes record in the derby and his general safety first approach, it’s just another version of the same story.

We need a manager in here who hurts even more than we do when we're beaten in games like this, we dont need some fraud handing out excuses and repeating his failures again and again.

He should feel utter shame about that record. Sixteen times when he's condemned Everton supporters to a derby defeat...each one daggers to the heart and our pride crushed.

Yeah, that isn't good. In an ideal world Dibling should be starting over both of those players or at least be getting game time. The fact he isn't is a massive concern considering the amount we spent on him.

Dibling has had nothing short of bit parts this season , even if its a start he's hooked before anyone else if the team are struggling.

There is something massively wrong here , the lad played 38 games for Southampton last season scoring 4 goals in all competitions.
Yet we keep hearing the term " Premier league experience" .
Some might say he needs to work harder and show more .
I say he is being managed abysmaly and he's not the only player in that boat.

Its a shocking waste of money , time and most of all talent.

Not really any managers that fall into that category because when managers show real initial promise at a mid table club they tend to get snapped up fairly quickly by one of the top sides.

The fact Moyes has so many years in the game and is still managing mid table speaks volumes.

Names that are popping up a lot on here today like Iraola, Glasner, etc might not have a flawless record against the top sides - what they do have though is an intention to actually try to win every game that they play.

Bournemouth this season have probably been turned over a few times but also won against Arsenal and Liverpool. 2 games that we could have, and arguably should have won this season if we had a better attitude about playing those kinds of teams.

Who exactly are these people bringing names to Moyes? James Smith is Director of scouting and recruitment, appointed by Moyes, as he's worked with him for years. He's effectively taken over from Thelwell and Purdy. Moyes is making the decisions, they are just the wrong ones.

‘When it comes to recruitment there is collaboration. So James Smith and his TEAM supported by Chris Howarth from a strategic point of view and Nick Hammond from a player trading point of view.
Then myself (Nick Cox), Angus and David will work together to try and make the right decisions’.

So it’s a collaboration with Moyes essentially having final say.
