2025/26 David Moyes

Sadly I think our derby record is going to be crap until we get better players. As I said before, it's not like we're up against a mid table team here that we should be beating.

Need at least 5 or 6 players on Branthwaite and Ndiaye's level. Moyes bottles the game though. They're very fragile this season and we don't even test a keeper who is average Championship and hasn't played all season.

The words of this clueless loser since the final whistle tell you everything you need to know about Moyes. They're also the reason why we should expect two defeats per season against Liverpool for however long he's given here.

He's just a fraud - way out of hs depth here now.

The 90s and 00s killed us a club to the point where it would be a miracle if we ever regularly compete against them again. None of that was down to the players or manager, it's how we were run off the pitch.
We got beat today because of the manager and if we want to improve, he's got to change or we need to change him, if we're to progress. Teams do progress. Just look at city. We are progressing off the pitch, but it will take time.

I would say that looking at Europe after three seasons of near relegation was progression but we'll probably never agree and I'm too pissed off after today to have a long argument.
It wasn't three seasons of near relegation though was it. Dyche's first full season was mid table and we only got close to the relegation zone because of the points deduction. Last season was nowhere close to relegation. So that's effectively two seasons of mid table finishes before this season. Let's see exactly where we finish at the end of this season and then we can fully judge it.

I think 3 seasons of near relegation is a little misleading, as the middle year 23/24 was solely due to the points deduction & not due to performance. We would have finished 12th without that deduction.

22/23 was near relegation but due to the appointment of Lampard who as Dyche said, didn’t know how to win, unfortunately. It will be interesting to see how he does next season with Coventry.

So don't leave the guy who was in charge of transfers, Moyes running the club. Keep hearing Moyes will make steady progress but reality is if you throw £100m up the wall every summer you will soon start going backwards.
I still don't believe at all that those players were close to first choice targets.

Moyes doesn't want to use most of them so it doesn't make sense for them to have been his signings.

It's Groundhog day with Davey. Chance to go sixth? Find a way to lose.

We've had this all season. The reason we fail to go sixth every time the chance presents itself is because Davey hits his ceiling. It's not going to change no matter how long we give him or cross our fingers.

It won't definitely change with a new manager either. However, a good replacement would at least offer hope. I didn't for a minute believe that we would win this today as I sat in an Irish pub here in Berlin with a pal, a pile of Reds, and, to my delight, a few voluble Evertonians who revealed themselves with a roar when Ndiaye scored - or at least we thought he had. It was lovely not to be alone.

Sadly, we got the usual outcome by the end with a season-ender for Brathwaite thrown in as the cherry on the rancid cake replete with Beto's appaling miss, McNeil's ridiculous mistake, and the gut punch of conceding after thinking we had gone ahead.

Carlsberg don't do Merseyside Derby defeats, but if they did...

Was it purely down to the manager or also down to the fact Barry was terrible when he came on and losing Brainthwaite was a big blow too.

Unfortunately you can't compare us to City. Like the rest of the 'big 6' they are operating on a different scale to us.

I think the minute Barry came on we completely stopped looking like scoring. I don't think he really believes if one team was going to score it would be us.

….i certainly didn’t, i said to Mrs Eggs I thought they’re more likely to score. I think we became detatched after the subs, the reality is we didn’t test the substitute keeper.

Our substitutions certainly didn’t help our cause.

The lack of credibility of those determined to avoid criticising Moyes is staggering. Apparently Liverpool MUST always beat Everton because they spend more.

Un 'kin real.

We have a loser manager and people who worship him and wont get up off their knees to demand more against Liverpool from him.

No wonder theKopites laugh their bollocks off at the fanbase of this club placing that clueless biff on a pedestal. They can see what he is for them: an utter coward who hands them three points almost every single time.

They're toasting Moyes again tonight and looking forward to the next two derbies. THAT is the cast iron truth of the matter.
