The mad bit for me Is all these pundits saying similar to “I never thought they’d be involved in a relegation battle , I thought they’d pull away “ . The vast majority of footy fans I know knew spurs were in trouble weeks ago but this salaried pundits only just realised , it opens your eyes to how clueless they are .

I feel as it’s the same as managers not changing formation or styles , not making subs , leaving out certain players and the rest . As those outside the sport we seem to think we must just not get it as they’re experts . The same thing happens in politics we imagine there must be so much more going on we can’t see . The reality is so many we’re told are experts haven’t got a clue .

They'd argue about concentrating on Europe but you don't ending 17th position without there being something seriously worrying that needs fixing.

They just seemed hell bent on sleepwalking into the Championship and I'm not even sure they've woken up even now.

I think it's.mad how close we've come. We've been bottom 3 on the final day, or needing 2 wins from the last 3 or 4 games. And we've always stayed up and we've always had such a strong belief until the final point that saw us safe.
We've had utter crap players score amazing goals, we've had comeback games, cheating games, lucky games, guy bikelocked to goalpost games. Somehow, we've done it every time.

Tottenham have one bad year when they nearly went down, then they just go. Just like that. Theyre out of the league unless they win 3 of 6 games. I can't believe it.

I tell you what though, we better pray we don't ever come that close again as we're now missing what was the main factor in all of our close call scenarios, and that was Goodison.

….have no doubt, the fan base will not be found wanting but hopefully they got us through that era when other clubs would’ve wilted.

Exactly , then the following season the team couldn’t buy a win and experts telling us they’ll be ok once players come back .

I take that but I think Chelsea pre and then during game showed the ground moves impact wouldn’t be as huge as others suggested

Absolutely.

Buildings offer zero support or encouragement to the team.

They might help in the delivery of that support, but it’s the fans that matter.

Thought they had just about enough quality to have a 2/3 game run where it clicked a bit and got the results just to pull away far enough. They really are a mess though and the players are not up for the fight at all.

I don't think a lot of people have actually sat down an absorbed just how terrible they've been.

It almost defies comprehension, which is why I think there has been such widespread disbelief. I still don't think it's universally sunk in where they are and how dire the situation is.

It was a huge factor in staying up. The Hill-Dickinson is magnificent, but when you want 130 odd years of history urging you on, well we'll need another 130 years at the new place.
