Replacements

I would sell if those offers came in.

But all those offers aren't going to come in.

Mate, threads like this are only going to get a bad reaction. It's Football Manager stuff. It just won happen.
An Chris Gunther? Really?

I know it's just your opinion mate, but we would be far weaker if this happened, so thank goodness it won't.

admittedly James Morrison might be useful, he would give me (us) something but the pieces don't fit any more. I'm sure W.B.A. will say i won't let you go, you only get one life and you make it real.

I know it's Football Manager stuff. But to be fair I think Cahill will go, as will Yobo and one of Baines or Fellaini if the offer is good enough. Once Terry screws up in the first Euro game, Jagielka will come in and do well, which might just tempt Arsenal, Spurs or even Man Utd to make a bid.

IMO it really is not that far fetched. A profit of £10 on Fellaini and £15 on Baines would be too good to turn down and Moyes will know that.

As if he will have any say in it!

Here's another great Dane:

He was a git.

You know things are bad when even Jordan thinks you're a knobhead.

Seriously, with 59 million that's the best list of replacements you could find? we'd definitely go down.

I dunno, if I'm honest I think part of our problem as a club has been our reluctance to make wholesale changes to our team and in particular to cash in on our best players when they peak. We could have got big money for Saha if we'd sold him after the cup final for instance and that money could have gone towards any of the currently massive european stars Moyes is always scouting at the beginning of their careers.

And, as much as it hurts to say, we probably held on to Mikel for too long as well given his form at the end of his time here. It's risky selling proven stars to buy unproven players but it can also be incredibly effective if you get it right (see Ajax, Arsenal, Man U etc) and we don't have the money for any other strategy.

The last few summers we've largely sold no-one, bought no-one and trusted in the players we have and it's just led to the team declining. You need fresh blood. Now ideally I'd rather raise for the funds that by selling squad players like Anichebe but those kind of players won't earn the big fees.

Of course, as much as you need fresh blood, you also need to not spunk £26 million on James McCarthy, James Morrison and Chris Gunther. Because that's just mental.

Ola Toivonen of PSV would be a perfect replacement for Cahill, off the striker player and great in the air, Dutch Toffee?
