2025/26 David Moyes

It’s the opposite of arrogance. We just aren’t good enough at the moment to win a cup.

It’s not like we have a binary choice of seventh or the FA Cup!

Crystal Palace won it last year and Leicester a few years before that.

We last won it when we finished 15th.

Wigan won it.

You said cup runs are not important...

At this stage I think cup runs are not important. Once we are properly established again near the top of the table is when they take on more importance.

... for me, cups should always be the priority.

You get the occasional outlier, but the trend is clear. The most realistic path to improvement is to prioritise the league.

I have been thinking about this a bit recently and we don't actually know if he has been tasked to do this in fairness Zat. I reckon the brief this year was probably to just get as high up the league as possible tbh. Once things are a bit more solid (maybe some Euroball) I think we will see some of them get a bit more game time imo.

Oh i think its clear he's been tasked to get as high up the league as possible.

To do so he's elected to focus on experience, favourites and neglected to develop youngsters or run a meritocracy.

Next season if we do have europe he'll have no choice but to use the full squad simply because we cant sign the players he wants as I dont think TFG would allow it.

Gasparini I believe wanted experience and TFG only allowed u24s I think in the last window.

You're killing me mate..

What your problem should be is the use of the age, not the actual squad age.
the squad age is fine, it's how it is used which is what you don't agree with.

Also they might not all work out, but the question was about Age, not use, or how good they are..

You missed my joke about dividing by pi?
