David Moyes thinks Fellaini could become Cahill's long term replacement in the hole.

Now imagine if we actually had a proper CAM instead of Fellaini the defensive midfielder.

Ha ha, you know my thoughts mate. Interestingly though i think its about mindset. I critiscised Pienaar in the past for not having an end product, his best periods for me have always come when Arteta hasnt been in our team. Pienaar without doubt has taken on a more playmaking role. Similarily Baines was our main playmaker without Pienaar, i dont necessarily think you need the type of Sneider player cenrally in the final third and conform to conventionality under football manager rules, your playmaker can be where you choose them to be or prferably have a few. Really its about getting players on the ball in dangerous areas offensively not necessarily at CAM - which seems to be the popular thinking. Though i still beleive Mofro, is as good if not better then anything on the market we could bring in.

Then you look at when him and Cahill played up front this season and they were utter dross.

I dont think he's mobile enough or can beat a player to be in that role all the time. Rodwell has more traits for that role IMO

He was awesome second half of the season when he played AM and CM. I can't recall any games when Fellaini was sh*t since Feb. Can't think of many before that either tbh. He's not you're usual attacking midfield player but he's effective and more than makes up for his short comings. Unlike Cahill it's all about what he can do, rather than what he can't.

Whatever, it doesn't really matter does it, when it works it's good and when it doesn't it's ****. Moyes just likes to have these little insights into how he sees players every now and then.

He doesn't stop winning the ball at centre or attacking mid though. He just wins it in a different part of the field. Look at the second goal at Sunderland.

I'm sold on him being a Cahill replacement, but this comment is one of the biggest reasons I'd look at it. He will still be a ball winner, just higher on the field. Meaning his disruption will be more devastating with less time for cover to help, therefore more goal opportunities against a defense that isn't set and ready to optimally defend. I like his prospect.

In other words Fellaini will play there for the first 3 games of next season which sees us undefeated before Cahill walks back into the team in the fourth match and we lose at home to Southampton.

You're right actually BrOwNz, he does it every year, remember him saying he'd think Coleman will be a right back? Nothing changed.

Good vid regardless of opinions on favoured positions etc, what a player.

Good video. He showed some brilliant ball control and technique in that game, he needs to work on this shooting for sure though (general comment not to do with that video).
