David Moyes thinks Fellaini could become Cahill's long term replacement in the hole.

Lee Chung Yong From Bolton for right mid. Barkley or Osman for the hole. George Green for the bench next year.

Jelavic
Pienaar Fellaini Barkley
Gibson Rodwell

This is a good-looking front six to me. Again, Pienaar and Barkley aren't necessarily wingers in this formation.

He is not creative. He is not a good enough attacking player to be playing in the hole. There's no reason whatsoever why he can't still push up while having a CAM ahead of him, as he has done plenty with Cahill and a striker in the side.

He's scored about 4 goals in 2 years and he can't shoot from range, which of the top 6 teams do you know who play a 'CAM' who can't play through balls and can't shoot very well ?

It's MADNESS

How would you define creative? I'm thinking you're creative if you're creating chances. He did that for fun from Feb onwards. Wtf! He can't play through balls? It's not an innate ability. Of course he can play them. He has and he will. He's linked up really well with Jelavic so far so it's miles from madness. He was played in that position in 08/09 and scored 9 and missed a fair bit of that season as he was a late signing and was getting booked every single match. He can definitely score goals and I'd say given a whole season there he's be worth up to 10 goals which is what Cahill gave us.

I'm not saying I'd ideally have him there. I'd have him in the middle, I'm just saying this is quite an overreaction. He can be brilliant in any of the CM positions.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOO.

Ross Barkley is Cahill's long term replacement in the hole. Either him or someone similar to Pienaar. While Fellaini is brilliant playing deeper he's got the creativity of Vinny Jones and the finishing of our very own Hibbo.

I'd like to see Jack Rodwell tried in the hole. While he's not very creative he's got a burst of pace, good stamina and has got a decent long range shot on him.

I have a question to those who might know (Here's lookin at you, Fox n LCAB ;) )

Is there any chance Felli has had a word sayin he wants to play further up? Everyone wants to get up top scorin goals like, he wouldn't be the first young lad to wanna move forward...and he did recently sign a new contract...

Its simple really.

He's a good footballer who could probably play most positions on the pitch to a decent standard.

He's far far superior to Cahill in the am position so a combination of the 2 above points mean he's done ok there.

Is he the long term answer? I'd say no because he lacks some obvious qualities that a truly good am needs, especailly when we play like we do in the second half of the season. He's done well but ultimatly you want better there.

Plsu him and Gibson appear to make a great partnership so you risk breaking that up and not replacing him with as good a defensive mid as Fellaini.

And if he plays at am and we play how we normally do at the start of the season he's gonna have a sore head.

He's not a long term answer, but he really gets involved in our attacking play when he's up there. I wouldn't mind seeing him up there until Barkley is ready at least.

Gibson does a pretty good defensive job anyways, and Rodwell will likely be playing in the middle instead of Neville if he can stay fit.
