January Transfer Window 2026

Transfer Deadline day is a complete farce, only really beneficial for the media and probably agents, and should be scrapped. Probably easily challengable under some prevention of trading laws or suchlike. I know that they are well paid, but must be pretty difficult for players and their families as well, potentially having to make quick decisions about where their futures lie.

So its all down to Moyes for the final say.

How it should be in our structure if Moyes (or whoever holds his role) is First Team Manager.

If we had a Director of Football and Head Coach it would be different.

Plusses and minuses of each approach - basically dependent on how good the Manager is and how long you expect them to be around in our case because basically buying players for their tactics/system, rather than a longer term strategy. It looks like Moyes has predominantly bought into the financial strategy the Club are setting but probably still quite strong on character and Premier League readiness, as much as age.
