Darron Gibson

I have to hold my hands up and admit being wrong about Gibson, something i'am really happy to do BTW, I couldn't really see what he would offer the team but by the end of the season it was obvious, the lad gives us complete balance and controll in games, hope he kicks off the way he finished, and once again another great bit of business from the best manager out there where the transfer market's concerned

I'll second what Xavi has said; I slaughted this signing, seeing him play for Utd I thought we were being sold a dud. However, Darron has offered balance to our midfield, regardless of his footballing abiliy, the team looks better. Again Moyes has pulled another rabbit out of a hat and added another outcast to our squad, and this outcast has again fitted in perfectly.

Hope Gibson continues his form, but please, please, please over the holidays drop half a stone and lay off the ale

He won't be doing much drinking at the Euros.

Gibson reminds me more of a proper centre midfielder.
None of this DM or AM business, an all round centre midfielder.
He is approaching his best years and I expect him to be at the heart of the team for the next five years unless something amazing happens with investment!

Well played son.

This all over.

the way he's been playing he could stay in there even if we do get investment, the central midfield partnership of Fellaini and Gibson is something we can build around as a route for success imo.

Agreed.

Am I the only one that doesn't think Gibson is all that?!

I think we desperately need someone who can put their foot on the ball and dictate the game- a bit of craft to play alongside the big fella.

Wasn't Arteta that kind of player and it never worked?

This partnership is working nicely, Gibson is cleaning up and spreading the play, whilst the big man is his usual marauding self. The creative player should then go behind Jelavic, something we're missing.

We never saw a proper in form arteta pulling the strings like he did in previous seasons, I think everyone agrees he went a little stale.

It's just my opinion that for us to move forward we need creativity not just a player that grafts alot and can smash a long ranger. Don't get me wrong I really like gibson but would prefer an in form arteta mk II with Fellaini.

Yeah I agree about Arteta not being in good form at all so I guess we never seen what could have been really.

I just don't know if it would work, the type of player Fellaini is he could be stifled by a player that tries to get forward to much. Personally I think that Gibson and Fellaini work well, the creativity can come from all around us, they provide us with something to build on in the centre of the park.
