Having the purpose-built safe-standing section from the offset would suggest at least some receptiveness to the notion of a "singing" section(s), if you'll pardon the expression. The upper corner section is at maximum rake angle, so possibly not ideal for safe-standing, and might need to be a slightly more subtle "organic" marketing process to make it work. I know many people have asked for the whole end to be safe-standing..... but I'm not yet sure if the sightlines work in standing mode for the upper tier.

I would've thought the corners have the same rake as the rest of the stand, it just appears steeper as your perspective is across the stand rather than down it. The depth of each tread of the stand will be the same, otherwise leg room in the corner would be significantly less.

Also, I think the lower South end upper South are both maximum rake allowed, which is why the back row of the lower South is closer to the pitch than the lower east/west.

Yes, the upper tier is at the same maximum rake angle on all sides. If I remember rightly, the south lower tier is a few degrees less. The point I was trying to make was I don't know what the viewing sightlines would be like at the back of the upper south for standing, as I haven't yet checked it out. It would be far less onerous in the corner, as there is a obviously much clearer view of the goal from there.

United game on a Monday night too. Football has changed a lot over the past couple of decades but I still think it's going to be an interesting evening given the layout of the stadium.

Was at the game on Wednesday night, came down from Glasgow, so a tourist fan if you like!
Was surprised at the section that has been laid out for opposition support, seems like a prime spot and helps the away support to be seen and heard, which in turn must give the visiting team a boost, don't know if it's the logistics of having them there is easier to police but would think it would be better having them higher up and out of the way?
Went into one of the old warehouse bars that have been set up across from stadium, loads of Wolves fans inside and absolutely no problems but it does make you wonder what could kick off at certain games, also as has been said about both sets leaving at same time has obvious concerns?

I'd say to the side of the goal is pretty standard for new stadiums. Can't really put them anywhere else tbf.

For me, the trouble with regards to the likes of Liverpool and United will come from a group of their fans walking in from town and having to go past all the pubs on the way as they get closer to the ground.

Think Newcastle have got it right tbh.

Expect the games that might be seen as a potential risk for trouble will see the away suport held back for 30 mins after match.
Definitely felt that the getting through exits at outer wall was a very obvious bottleneck and should be carefully monitored.

Newcastle are the only team allowed to put away fans that high up. Something to do with segregation issues in and around the ground.

Mate park far away as possible it's gridlocked maybe backend of Mersey Street my missus started picking us up from there you won't get out for hours totally gridlocked nightmare..

That sort of congestion you highlight at the gates there reinforces your point from a few days back that loads of people just dont enter the plaza due to lack of what they're looking for in terms of food and drink. So you get a late throng of people who've been in the local ale houses and getting fast food from the latest shops that have recently popped up on Regent Road trying to shuffle through the gates all at once.

The list of improvements the stadium operators have to make will be as long as your arm even at this stage.

A lot of football fans leave it until last minute to enter a ground. Someone want to finish a pint, however this is not like Goodison where you can literally walk off the street and to a gate. You first have to pass security checks and there is only one way into the ground. I feel like there should be at least another two entrances down that dock wall.

Lighting is also an issue. Simple things like streetlights don’t seem to be there. Who from the council walked from the stadium to Sandhills at like 10pm on a pitch black night. They probably never. That’s why nothing was done about it.

Obvioulsy we want it to be an intimidating stadium to come to in terms of us winning games with a raucous atmosphere. The stadium management committee want it to be a non-aligned punter paradise with nothing on their minds other than a day out where people empty their wallets.

I hate to say it, but if - and probably when - there's a kick off outside this stadium then the stadium will see a lot more discrimination in terms of getting away fans safely into and back out of it, with locking away fans in a part of that.

Sadly you've missed the iceberg on the ocean. There's plans afoot to take over sections and corp areas by aways already up and moving. the newcastle show was just the beginning.

Let’s be honest, we completely bolloxed the move of fans over to BMD when the window process was announced, breaking up groups and not basically picking up and dropping how people we’re situated at GP into BMD.

I know they prob couldn’t do it that way, but that allocation process and the generally poor football we’re playing is why the place isn’t bouncing.

Dedicated singing section in the south, allowed standing there without getting moaned at - we could have got it so right but we’ve fudged it.

Basically, You’ve got the park end dementors, who used to sit at GP and do frig all but moan, scattered all over the new gaff, telling people to sit down and shut up.

I think those who chose to sit in the south stand knowing it was the home end, with safe standing in the lower - who didn't want to create an atmosphere are the problem. Not the club. I
