2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

I am merely spelling it out for children why right now it makes sense to bring him back, and why back in August it also made sense to send him out on loan. Whilst Rohl needed time, he still would have been an available body on the bench if fit.

I'm not sure I can dumb it down any more than that.

We loaned him out with a small squad.

We've recalled him as the squad is small. Because Gana is at AFCON which we always knew would happen, and Dewsbury-Hall is out.

Rohl is more ready now than he was in August.

Maybe there's been an issue with Alcaraz. Or maybe Dewsbury-Hall is worse than feared.

But my read of it is as above. In that now, January- we only have 1 player in Armstrongs position not available who we otherwise didn't expect.

Start of the season:

Tim
Gana
Garner
Rohl
KDH
Armstrong

It was perfectly fine to loan him out then thinking Gana was the only absentee.

Rohl being injured most of the season so far and KDH doing his hamstring has changed that.

It's just hindsight now to wonder why he was loaned out in August.
Rohl right back
Garner left back

4 CM left for 3 positions

Sorted until the summer 🙂

….different type of player than Barkley or Grant, not as technical as either of them. Good range of passing, terrific engine,

I know McEveley’s dad from his junior school days, Scottish international. Like his dad, he’s from the Cardinal Heenan production line and very tall. More of a converted CB.

I think Franny Bogan is one of the Bogos of Kirkdale.

I’d say it’s a lot more to do with the current injury issues to the squad generally.

When they see a bench consisting of 2 GK’s & 4 kids, is mmm day that in itself is enough for them to act.

The bare minimum, Armstrong improves the current bench options.

Yeah maybe, but you'd hope his development isn't sacrificed for padding out the bench.

The lad needs to play.

I think he proved he can dig in at the lower level. Good loan. No problem with him coming back. I think he gives us another option in several positions and he could be our potential creator going forward. Like Dibling, he just needs to find a way to impact games at this level. Let's see if he is ready to take the step up. I would hope he becomes the guy behind the striker for us as he has some classy assists in the cup for us. I think he has some magic

Hi everyone, PNE fan here. Firstly, thank you Everton for loaning HA to us. Fantastic young player. Future England first teamer if he carries on developing like he has. Please use him wisely & not just fill the bench. He belongs in the Prem not the Championship. Glides round the pitch, always has space & never seems to panic, & never wastes a pass. If you find that you don't need him before the end of January then we would love to see him come back. Good luck for the rest of the season
