2025/26 Adam Aznou

It's so weird, Moyes has unleashed Grealish and signed the form midfielder of the season (D-Hall), and yet is being judged on 19 year olds Aznou and Dibling.
If it was having a go, then it'd be over how Alcaraz has gone, I'd understand (he looks half the player from last season, even though he's been used twice as much...) and Barry who's been signed on a significant fee and sadly looks shakier than a shaky thing in a strong breeze.
There had to be a player for us up top, I'd have broke the bank for Minteh. (Henry was a winger at Juve before anyone starts).

Moyes bought Coleman in January 2009, yet made only three league appearances that season, before being sent out on loan.

He turned out alright, so while it's frustrating that we spent money on Aznou and he's not playing, it doesn't mean he won't eventually be good enough.

Personally, my gut feeling is that it may be due to his physicality, and you can't bulk up quickly.

If he needs a loan do it, get him out. No rush really, even though we ALL want to seem him flourish now.

Truth is, physically this league is brutal...THE most physical league around - And that's why players don't adapt more than anything.

Not sure about "gut feelings" as Moyes himself said Aznou needs physical development.

Will be interesting to see which team he goes to.

Should have been given some time on the wing at the expense of Dwight last game. At the very least.

Yes 100%. As with Dibling, just super weird.

I knew it was a trap. I simply couldn’t resist it.

"9 or 10" with his gormless facial expression with fans cheering was absolutely horrific.

In which case why is even Patterson getting anywhere near the pitch: a player who has consistently proven how chronically bad he is at all aspects of the game and more especially defending?

There's no consistency being applied here. Fans will notice that.

This is not the mid-noughties when Moyes' stock was so high he could buy a player like Kroldrup then hand him one game then get shut of him with everyone scratching their heads but accepting it and moving on. He doesn't have that status anymore and fans are much more questioning of managerial decision making now and will be prepared to scrutinise it a lot more.

Aznou has not been seen by them to any lengthy degree and if Moyes gets shut it'll reflect badly on him. It'll just add to his dinosaur reputation.
It's not like Patterson has been given much of a chance either Davek for probably the same reason as Aznou that he's defensively too suspect despite offering natural width and at least Patterson gets forward to offer a semblance of attacking balance

We've all seen a lot of Patterson in the last 3 seasons - enough to determine how bad he is.

That's not true of Aznou.

Why any player aged 18-20 odds would sign for Moyes is beyond me.

There’s more with Anzou though - Anzou, Barry, Dibbling represent a poor summer window.

Moyes repeatedly said we needed first team ready players this summer. He also mentioned his frustration that a number of targets didn’t fancy joining.

Looks to me like he had money burning a hole in his pocket and just signed what he could get, instead of what we really needed. We’ve now left ourselves with no cover at left back - Mykolenko needed upgraded in the summer, at the very least some serious competition brought in.

Beto needed upgrades in the summer, I’d have been okay with him staying if he was backup but we’ve ended up with someone with no discernible improvement. The two worst strikers in the prem.

Dibbling, barely given him a run and we’ve run N’Diaye into the ground.

He’d have been better just getting some loans in saved our money for a window when we could get people to join who would improve the team.

If I was the Friedkins I’d be asking some really serious questions about his summer spending - particularly if he was coming to me asking for more money for a left back or a centre forward.

I think we need to reserge judgement on Aznou until next season.

Dibling now needs regular minutes.

Young English players will be watching Dibling and Armstrong and talking to them. We need to get both flying high and then others will want to join.

Eyes are on us...

Cant see 18-20 year olds joining due to Moyes having Grealish. That seems illogical to me...Dibling & Armstrong though, yes.

Yep a totally bizarre summer spend, worse since Koeman. People talk about Moyes bringing stability and progress but if you’re wasting most of a £100m then you’re actually making the situation worse in the medium term.

Mate, nothing is worse than Koeman himself or his transfer windows

If we are going to loan him out at least make it a physical league.

Germany sounds good.

Championship surely.

He's made 49 appearances for Everton. How can you be comparing him with Aznou?

WTF?!
Well if we're being unbiased which you're clearly not with regards Patterson then he was getting plaudits when he had a run in the team under Lampard so much so that when he got injured on international duty we were gutted about it. Since then he's had no regular game time because of injuries and various managers not rating him. Am I saying he's good enough? No. I'm just saying his sample size isn't much better than Aznou's with regards making a definitive judgement on whether he's up to it or not. Truth being told neither of them probably aren't but for various reasons neither have been given an adequate chance to show what they can do (a consistent run of first team games) I await your usual Patterson diatribe

Business Hours Sunday League if he can survive that he'll be ok

🤣 🤣 🤣

No.

He has never had any standing at this club as a player; his biggest support came from the know-nothing media who pestered Everton manager after Everton manager for news on why he wasn't being played. That pathetic re-writing of history will not go unchallenged.

Let's just stick to a player like Aznou who's had no time on the pitch to prove he can be a player for us, shall we?

Just like Myklenko getting regularly rinsed by Isaac Heath in training then and being told he had no chance with the first team.
To be fair if Heath is looking to be even anywhere close to being close to the first team here then he would really need to be showing himself to be far and away the best player in league 2 while he’s out on loan. I’m not aware that he’s doing that.

No rewriting of history Davek as it happened. If I knew how to or cared to go back to the vaults to that time when Patterson was getting praise and how his injury on international duty was a real downer for the fans as he was on a good run of form then I'd show you up for your bitterness towards an Everton player which reflects poorly on you so you can keep your laughing emojis and your blinkered mindset to yourself
