Difference is that Villa has Europa, I think they can catch Arsenal but Haaland for scoring for fun these days.

It hasn't taken Villa that long to build a top side capable of qualifying for the champions league, they were fighting relegation with us 3 or 4 years ago.
Whilst we have stilll got a side that can't even win away to any of the promoted sides and score just 1 one goal in three games in them Villa can win 11 on the spin.
Would love to know what this progress is that Angus Kinnear claims.

Villa have built a squad cleverly over a good few years. Got great value and are also very well coached, making decent players look really good.

benitez forced Digne out summer 2022, Villa were already on the up then. Some stability and planning was already in situ. Overcoming our self sabotage is what we need to address first.

They are 3 or 4 years ahead of us and haven’t had to deal with bad owners for the last few years. The Friedkins will probably look at Villa as a model they could replicate here.
