TV Series

Have to say that the Christmas Telly has been nothing short of FFFIN SHOCKING this year.

Yeah, they make zero effort these days. The BBC is particularly bad considering their privileged position. Hour long specials of ‘The Repair Shop’ FFS.

And you can set your watch by their Christmas Day schedule: Strictly Celebrity Special, Call the Midwife and Mrs. Brown’s Boys.

Absolutely dire.

I’m just talking more storyline, Bry. I know last ep is like 2 hours long but there’s still so much to resolve. Feels proper S8 Game of Thrones.
It feels like they’re trying to repair the lack of story and character development for Will certainly for seasons 3 and 4 and this is taking up a fair bit of time in this last series possibly at the expense of the general story development. Running time for the last episode is 2 hours and I agree there is a lot to cover. Still a good watch though.

I’m also surprised at how they’ve used Linda Hamilton, who is underused and plays a one dimensional character.

Yeh enjoying it I just have that feeling it’ll end and we’ll still be waiting on answers to like 9 different things. Feels quite rushed.

All the military people are just bland. Zero context as to what they’re up to.

I don’t really watch it that deeply tbh, it’s a great show for me who doesn’t watch telly that much.

Yeah normally I’m not one for the critical level of viewing…it just appeared quite obvious to me this season, but I am enjoying it. Be interesting to see how they tie it all together in the end.

I can almost guarantee you’ll see at least 1 angry post off me in here on New Year’s Day 😂
I think ever since GoT (and it wasn’t just the last episode with that show, I think from S6 onwards it lost its bite/direction) my expectations are quite low.

The duffer brothers have talked a lot about ‘sticking the landing’ and said they’ve been mindful of how other successful shows have ended on a divisive or sour note, so slightly encouraged by that, but still keeping expectations low and anything half decent will be a bonus.

Yeh I just think if you don’t know how to properly wrap up your show after this many years don’t bother making one 😂
