i thought we had to pay for Beto after his first season, which, to me, was like buying a 7 year old Renault Espace on credit and having it’s clutch go 7 months in to a 5 year term.

You may not like it, but football is tribal, we’ve let a player go for free, who we pretty much got for free, who has scored 3 times as many goals in the last month as our two strikers have combined all season.
Fact is we all care. Add those extra 4 goals, we’d be a lot happier and higher in the league, long story short, we all care, the only ones who can claim they don’t are the ones who don’t post in this or any other DCL related threads. You posted, you care.

How many have come from an opposition defender giving him and open goal and penalties?
I have it at 3 which is nearly half of what he's scored.
Will be interested to see if he can maintain it. If we look at the last four years he probably won't.

We had a striker who scored 8 in half a season last year but won't get given a game because we're persisting with Barry.
Fact is, Beto was heads and shoulders more likely to score us goals last year than DCL and just because DCL has put a few in for Leeds it doesn't change that at all.

Who is talking about him being prolific?
We have also seen Barry miss from that range with an open goal. I’d love someone tapping them in for us right now.
Doesn’t matter how they go in, I bet you celebrated grealish scoring vs Palace as much as you would celebrate it if it was from 20 yards.
