Oh yeah, because the remaining players he had on the bench where 2 keepers, 2 academy kids, a 19 year old who we were all told when we signed him is a signing for the future, and a rb that isn’t better than our other options at RB.

He subbed off what were probably the 3 players having the poorest games.

The way people talk on here as if he should be making better subs is comical.

Moyes’ lack of ambition was underlined by him failing to bring on the 500 billion of talent languishing on the bench!

It's this kind of argument that does my head in. It's fine to defend Moyes when he's up against the league leaders with a depleted squad, that's a fair enough argument, but the hyperbole employed when addressing other people's arguments with nonsensical statements about the best players in the world and world record spending, implying that either that is what the OP is suggesting is available to Moyes or that only that type of resource is how to get anything out of a match like this, is just asinine. There are very few managers (if any) that I would argue are above criticism. Moyes isn't one of them. He certainly isn't the worst. He certainly isn't the best. He certainly has his flaws and it is very fair to argue some of his decisions were very questionable. I will ignore Chelsea and Arsenal as I thought those were always going to be difficult to win. Hell, lets drop Newcastle for Pickford's howlers. He has dropped points. He is out of the cup. He has a lot of work to do. It will be a difficult stretch without Ndiaye and KDH for however long he is out.

The reason for that is the amount of people slamming Moyes and his subs despite the lack of squad depth is also ridiculous. (or do you think bringing on any of these players: king, travers, welch, Aznou, Patterson, Campbell gives us a genuine chance of winning?)

He literally took off 3 of our worst performing players on the day for the only 3 viable subs we have.

The point most rational people understand is that you are holding him up to an ideal that doesn't exist. You can't assess a manager based on one or two results. Moyes' overall performance in both spells with us has been exceptional very very few managers would have outperformed him to any meaningful extent given the same resources. If you look at both spells in their entirety the only teams that have outperformed Moyes Everton would be the massive budget teams. And he outperformed lots of teams with bigger budgets.

The problem is some people want a discussion based on emotion rather than facts, it's just a howl of rage and frustration at losing and they want to moan and complain without actually considering any facts. They're the type who demand youth team players replace underperforming first team players on the assumption they couldn't do any worse. Ignoring the fact that the managers watches all of the players in training everyday.
