2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

As soon as Gueye was available there was no chance of Alacaraz starting.

Moyes has a very specific 11 he wants to play week in week out apart from injuries and suspensions and Gueye is part of that.

He'll have to earn his corn now that 3 first team players who he loves aren't available

For all his positives, his rigid adherence to 4231 with his favoured players is such a limitation. If Garner plays 6 by himself yesterday I don’t think Palmer scores the first goal.

It's not 1985 the days of having 12 players you want to play every week are long gone but we have a manager who manages like it's 1985 so not surprised.

With KDH deeper he's also a lot more difficult for the opposition to pin down. For all the faults Alcaraz has, he could and should have been walking off with an assist and a goal yesterday (the block by the Chelsea game at the end), he played a huge part in Barry's goal last week, assisted Grealish the week before and could and should have had a goal against Newcastle which smashed the bar. He influences the game in the top 3rd whilst also having KDH behind him where he's also a goal influence. Bringing Gueye straight in negated 1 offensive option whilst he didnt exactly cover himself in glory tracking anyone on both goals.

It was poor by Moyes, but he is what he is where he's stuck in his old ways and no matter of form, he'll pick the same 11 week in week out if he can.

That was disappointing I agree. Think Gana should've been on the bench, the others earned the start over him in his absence
