2025/26 David Moyes

Where I question Moyes today is the insistence of immediately starting Gana in favour of what has clearly been working since Gana was suspended. The suspension was good in a way in that Moyes was forced to think differently. I feel we should’ve stayed with the same set up and Gana had to earn his way back onto the pitch.

…I felt Palmer was key, he plays ‘between the lines’ and we’d have nobody to counter him. He scored anyway but I could fully understand why Moyes wanted Gueye in that more defensive position.

Some players will come straight back in after suspension, just as KDH did. The manager picks what he believes is his best team for each game. I don’t think he got much wrong today, the KDH injury was a big blow.

He’s going to have to work some miracles if KDH and Grealish are out with hamstrings…alongside Ndiaye and Gueye! A Garner yellow from barely being able to put out a side.

Yep - completely predictable as is the failure to even make any progressive changes at half time or early in the second half. If you try everything you can and still lose, fair enough.

The subbing on of Beto for Barry is possibly one of the most lazy arsed and forlorn changes in the PL. But we all know it'll happen even though it's always failed.

Just play a different formation and put Dibling on and Ndiaye through the middle or even just get Keane up there and switch JOB to CD and Garner to RB.

Zip, zilch, nada for this manager.

The feller is and always will be too inflexible to change things...because he cant see it.

Frightening.

The fact people wait for any opportunity to slate the manager is a disgrace.
The disgrace is blindly screaming that Moyes is great and there’s no way he could improve. We had this with Dyche. Calling for his sacking is also premature.

Warranted criticism and challenging what the manager is doing is more than fine, especially when there are clear issues with his decisions and choices.

I also feel Moyes has done a fine job since coming back, and has improved us no end from Dyche.

But prior to this game and today fiddling with the staring line up, his tactical decisions, his subs and his general shithouse mentality against some clubs only really frustrate many, and show he’s not changed much since Moyes mk1, knife to a gunfight/safety first crap.

Chelsea are a better team.
We are running low on numbers anyway,
Wouldn't blame Moyes for this result,
Might have tried to change things earlier, but doubt it would have changed much.
Played too open from the off mate.

You cant go toe to tie with that Chelsea team down there.

Yes, look for a win and be bold enough to make the right changes when required, but dont leave yourself with a mountain to climb at HT.
