2025/26 David Moyes

There are two big problems I have with Moyes.

1. The CB dilemma. There is a charity case at CB. Don't get me wrong- Tarks and Keane have been good this season. O'Brien is the best CB available and he is playing RB. Garner is our best RB and despite having Tim and Charly available which would allow him to shift Garner to RB, we keep O'brien there. Drop the sentimentality and set up the team for the long term and the best to WIN (not just grind out results) games.

2. KDH at the 10 (harsh as he only played shortly to start before injury but he was invisible to start the game). If you have to have him there, Garner has to be RB. You need another creator which O'Brien is not.

Wins are more important. Moyes is trying to play it too safe. That will kill us down the line.
Moyes likes his cbs at full backs...obrien was very poor today. Defensively probably one of his worst games with us...in the attack found himself at times in great positions but very poor with the delivery (except one that ndiaye couldn't connect with). We need a rb, and if there isn't one by January 1st, then for me the recruitment team has failed.

His mindset is so defeatist. That said, I’m sure he’d respond by pointing out since he came back we’ve won more away games that any other team in the league, which is incredible. So frustrating though.

Definitely need a RB in January. Zero excuses for Dan and David on that. They chose not to prioritize it.

That's what makes the mindset so infuriating. He's a very competent manager. But he limits himself. Inferior managers win cups by taking the odd risk. Moyes? Will always second-guess himself "at the real big clubs."

Big lack of goals in this team so whenever we concede it's a big ask. With the absences over the next few weeks we could have quite a few tricky games coming up. Time for the back up players to step up and seize the chance.

One day an Everton manager will twig on that you can’t win many games with Keane and Gueye in your team. Don’t know how many years this lesson needs to be learned, how many managers will lose their jobs over it, but it was true in 2017 and it’s true in 2025.

Get both of them out the door.
Keane’s been one of our best players this season, better than Tarks at times and Gueye is still one of our best ball winners even on an off day
