2025/26 David Moyes

I don’t blame him either, however I do object to the manner in which it took place and his subsequent behaviour.
Having spend years whining about a lack of funds he elected to leave effectively on a bosman, to the richest club in the world. From his own narrative even a couple of million compo would have been beneficial but no.
Then, he throws in the ‘derisory’ joint bid for our our crown jewels and his subsequent justification of he wouldn’t stand in the way of a players best interests (let’s ignore his hissy for over Lescott) and the belittling of Martinez as not understanding how Everton works.
The bloke is a self serving snake.
I can deal with that and his current relative success, but I wont forget it and he’s got to do a lot better than bottling cup semis or finals and finishing the best of the rest for me.
Others id have more patience for but this toad showed his true colours before.
Sickens me to read the grief given to the likes of Mykolenko compared to the adoration afforded to Moyes

Spot on.

To summarise that time and Moyes would be to say that after all his strong statements belittling the manager and club he then went past the deadline where Fellaini had a release clause.

Thus wasting several million pounds for his new employers.

Im made up with how well moyes i doing. We are certainly ahead of schedule considering what our expectations should be. There hasnt been a single manager since Moyes left who has been able to get such a tune out of the team. With the exception of Martinez first season but it all fell apart for him when his methods started taking over the following season. Both clearly and factually Moyes has been the best manager we have had since Moyes

Simply wasn't backed in the summer window following the first season.

We needed an upgrade in the type of technical player who could carry out the game plan...a game plan that'd begun to be read by opponents toward the end of the first season, in fact.

That's - in a nut shell - what happened.

But back to Moyes: we're where we should be after 15 games when our opponents are nearly all playing two games per week in Europe and with our upgrade in player resources in the summer.

This is not a good league. Top 10 is a minimum requirement this season.

Don’t think there is too much doubt Moyes is the best manager since Moyes although Dyche deserves credit for his first 2 seasons - can imagine Moyes constantly bigging himself for saving Everton against the world if he had been in charge during that period.

The question should be - given where we are now is Moyes the best manger we can get? I recall he mentioned elite players for an elite ground. This would suggest we need an elite manager & I don’t think you can argue that Moyes fits in that category. 🫣

Sure he’s doing fine at the moment but we know his best is ‘best of the rest’ with a cup run now again ending in defeat. Good times 🙂.

At some point I would hope we show more ambition.

I love Davey but I just watched that 'Ask Me Anything' interview from this week and you know how, for some people, you sense that the act of smiling would rip their cheeks open and require emergency surgery? Deffo him. This bit in particular...

Question: 'Would you rather fight one hundred duck sized Pickfords or one Pickford sized duck?'
Answer. [Blank face] Don't understand the question. Pass.'

Sheesh.

Wasn’t backed 😂

We had our highest ever net spend at the time in his second season. In his final season we had our 2nd highest ever net spend, only beaten by his net spend from the season before.

Both seasons individually, the overall expenditure was more than Moyes ever spent in a season. Even his first season was only beaten by one of Moyes seasons at that point.

He's at his best when he contradicts himself on the same page, it's so amusing. Can be quite tedious trawling through his nonsense, but every now and then he drops a big one and can't wriggle out of it. Full Paxman, "did you threaten to overrule him?".
My paint skills (that's overstating things) would be nowhere without him. god bless him, and that luca chianti chap to.
