Sadly this seems to work in the US. My view is that US sports are utter dumbed down, over hyped shadows of what good sport is (why is why nobody really plays or watches them outside the US, with the odd exception of netball, sorry, basketball in a few countries). However- the drooling yanks still flood there.They’ve said today that the prices are a reflection of demand for tickets. If they sell the majority of them, this will be the new norm as they’re not going to lower them in future.
The World Cup won’t be a flop either, it’s too big to be. The coverage won’t let it be, even the crap games will get hyped up beyond belief.
They'll turn up at the expense of true fans, they won't notice the lack of passion or atmosphere, because its not something they know of or expect, then they'll drift away not knowing the magic wondering what all the fuss was about.
