2025/26 Tyler Dibling

tbf we said DCL was cack and Leeds would regret signing him and yeah he's had some shocking misses however he's still scored a few goals for Leeds

i'd take saints fans comments with a pinch of salt

I've always liked Dibbles as a player and was concerned he wouldn't get the time needed here to settle and perform.

However the Saints fans are delighted to have replaced him with a cheaper player proving far more effective, albeit in the Championship.

Maybe we should 'swoop' for him (Scienza) in Jan ?

I like Scienza a lot, but in no way was he a replacement for Dibling - he’s a predominantly right footer who generally plays off the left or in the centre, so he’d be a replacement for Grealish or KDH… which ain’t gonna happen is it! If Grealish leaves next summer, he could be an option but he’d be making a step up at almost 28, which wouldn’t feel like the best of investments.

Yes, I guess that's partly my badly made point :)

There's no real investment value in Scienza, though at under £9m low risk. He's a player who's not had an easy ride in his career which seems to have forged a resilient character.
He was also the player Saints needed this season, even if not played at times by that numpty Still early season.

Dibling is (still) a good investment both financially and re potential contribution to the club. I'm starting to think however there isn't a plan for him at Everton though which worries me. It'll be an interesting 2nd half of the season for him now.

With Ndiaye going to AFCON we may see more minutes for our dibbers

Unfortunately Tesco McNeil deal will prob come straight in as the replacement to begin with

Yeah you might well be right. I hope Dibling does get more time whilst Ndiaye’s away. Arsenal at home looks like the kind of game when a star could be born!

Crazy the turnaround at Southampton, will be interesting to see if the new manager can keep it going. I really like Shea Charles there, even if he was part of the bad run, not the current good one! He feels like a Moyes and Everton type player.

I mean, you can't really compare a player that's doing well for you now in the championship, to a player that didn't play for you in the championship.
( well, maybe a few minutes before we finally agreed the deal, but can't remember.

Personally i think all we as fans should be concerned about is seeing the team perform on the pitch and us picking up points, which at this moment in time we're doing.

Am sure Tyler has got reassurances going forward, but for this moment in time he's going to have to be patient.

We almost certainly see him gets minute when Ndiaye is at the Afcon👍
I think there's already been a lot of patience granted because we're doing well.

You can imagine the furore to include him if we were losing or struggling.

He's a top top talent but he's still too young for regular 90 minute action.
It would be nice to be able to bring him on for last 15 / 20 mins in games we are comfortable in.
Trouble is the PL is so physical and close that there's few games we can do that in.
Definitely one for the future - as is Rohl and Aznou.
Great to see us making these investments though.

He needs to be more assertive, find his spots and find a way to have an impact off the ball. A problem I find with too many wingers is they are too static and demand the ball to feet as opposed to drifting into good positions. Even Mirallas was guilty of this at times (maybe protecting his gummy hamstrings but yeah). Would like to see Dibbles just have an impact on the game. He hasn't when he has come on and that is likely why Moyes hasn't given him much run.

If he's not getting regular game time in the New Year, why not send him to Preston?

They've shown with the Armstrong loan and previously with Gordon as well they're decent with handling young talent.

Also, opportunity to develop with Armstrong as teammates and understanding how each plays.

….not 100% sure, but I thought you could only loan one player from the same club. Regardless, PNE might not be in a position to cover part of his salary.
