Using Wayne Rooney as your argument, that Moyes gives kids a chanceIt’s not about “giving him credit” it’s about calling out something that’s just factually false. In the 03/04 season, Rooney started 26 of the 34 league games he was available for.

If you want to have a go at Moyes, maybe pick something else because this one is a dead duck I’m afraid.

Where did I say he left him out more ?? I just said he didn’t start his best player every week, we did Finish 17th in 04 and Utd won the league in 05, slightly different levels of quality. Why do you have such a problem with the factual evidence that Moyes started Rooney far more than he left him out?
For context, just to drive you into the mud a little bit more, Alex Ferguson started him in 24 of the 29 league games he was available for in the 04/05 season. So he benched him roughly the same amount as Moyes did.

He started 26 games in 04, that’s like Moyes leaving Ndiaye on the bench for 12 games this season or KDH etc
Ok so Chelsea won it, but they were still a miles better team than us. Again find where I said He used him as a sub??? You won’t because that’s not what I said.No it’s nothing like that at all.
He was only available for 34 games, not 38 for a start. And there are many reasons a player could be rotated out of the team that you haven’t even stopped to consider, maybe he wasn’t match fit, maybe certain games suited a different tactical approach and required more disciplined experienced players.
You strolled into this debate acting like Moyes used Rooney as a sub and Alex Ferguson made him his talisman from day 1, when in reality they basically both used him in the same way for roughly the same amount of game time. Take the L on this and move on to your next Moyes nitpick, I’m sure you’ll be able to find something.
Oh and United didn’t win the league in 05 either by the way.

I said he didn’t start his best player every week and that’s a FACT. And all down to him being 18 imo
They also had Ronaldo and Van nistelrooy. You can’t compare, we were a bottom Half side, that ended up 17thSo Alex Ferguson rotating him with Louis Saha and Alan Smith was “all down” to him being 19 then was it? No possible other factors at play?
Didn’t we finish 4th in 05, without Rooney, who we finished 17th with?Where did I say he left him out more ?? I just said he didn’t start his best player every week, we did Finish 17th in 04 and Utd won the league in 05, slightly different levels of quality.

Do we think there will be any sales in Jan?
Surely Patterson has to go, his Everton career looks over and if he has any desire to go to the world cup with Scotland he neds game time. Thought McNeil looked revitalised when he came on against Forrest but he may be another if a suitable offer comes in from Dyche and then there is Beto if we have another striker lined up but cant see that as we probably should have 3. Any other shouts?
