The Ashes 2025

Saying they trained too much (when they didn't bother with a practice match) has got to be one of the most ridiculous things ever said by a coach in a post match interview.

Continuing to gaslight everyone. Very ‘Dychey’

This period is setting English cricket back about a decade, persisting with crap players because of vibes, ignoring the county champo, and handing so much power to Key and McCullum

Yeah I think this will be his last series in charge of the test team

I dont honestly understand the selection policy these days. It's very much style over substance a lot of the time.

As a Glammy fan I've been watching Asa Tribe for the last 12 months and his technique is fantastic. He's 21 years old and hit about four chanceless centuries in a fortnight across all formats in August/September. I was chuffed he got picked for England Lions, and now he's just scored 114 not out against Australia A.

Honestly think he would adapt to test cricket if thrown in at Adelaide at 3.

What is it with being a Evertonian.

We get rid if Dyche, and start to see decent football, then get this McCullum nugget going all Dyche, with corresponding performances, blaming everyone and everything rather take any responsibility for events that he is supposedly in charge of.

Hopefully half way through the 3rd test, as we face yet another crushing, he will announce that he has taken the team as far as he can. We know the script after that and things will start to improve.

PS listening to his interview I actually think he is trolling a whole nation.

Sadly if you are not in the Bazball clique then you have no chance of getting picked.

I thought the last option was going a bit far, if I could animate the yellow citrus onto this I would.

The only solution is practice and more practice. Through the summer and winter these guys should be back with their counties in the nets as much as possible. They are none of them complete players.
The real fault of course lies with the domination of the one-day game and 20/20. Long innings are no longer desirable or marketable.
Maybe not. But they are, still, the competitions that attract the most attention, and therefore the most kudos. Good selectors, coaches and players are able to adapt to all.

Interesting aspect in that re mental collapse. When the going gets tough, instead of digging in, england start wofting at nothing balls and trying to knock the ball out of the ground.
Also aus didn't miss a catch, they were razor sharp in the field, and when it came to making england suffer, they were happy to keep them all under the sun and tick over slowly.

england believe they can hit their way out of trouble, aus have let them try.
