I agree...at the very least its a square peg,in a square hole.

I personally think the game will be won in midfield tomorrow so for me it's imperative KDH and Garner are central.

….i’m a critic of Patterson but I’d prefer Garner to play in an already depleted CM tomorrow. Not sure there’s any other option at RB unless Coleman has recovered.

I suppose using McNeil centrally is a possibility (as per @blue to the bone).

The most left footed man on the planet cannot play RB. I know the trend is to play left footers on the right wing so they can cut inside but right backs have to be able to at least use their right foot when defending down the line and I'm not sure McNeil even uses his right foot for standing on he's so one footed. If Keane's out I don't see many other options than Patterson as, I agree with you, Garner should play midfield given our lack of options there. Us unsatisfying as that is. We really should have brought in a RB in the summer as this was a completely predictable situation.

Dave...not in a million years is Alcaraz disciplined enough to play centre midfield against these.

Even when he's playing further up the pitch Moyes is constantly screaming at him to get back into position and be aware of what's around him.

That pairing is an absolute non starter.
