Given their respective Test averages, Root should have scored 51, Crawley should have scored 31 and Archer should have scored 9.
They scored today 76, 135 and 32 respectively.
An actual total of 243 v a theoretical total of 91. An extra 152 runs.
The players that got ducks have a total test average between them of 42 + 35 + 47 + 22 = 146.
Overall, we are ahead by 6 with possibly more to come from Root and Archer.
BTW, of the four that got ducks, it is Smith with the highest test average of 47. Despite that we have the below.
It's all a bit boring though when we just talk stats. Else we might as well just name 11 players each then look up total averages for both teams, decide the winner that way and then go and have a beer.
