2025/26 David Moyes

I actually thought we generally played well against Newcastle. Just had rotten luck and suffered from individual mistakes.
We played some decent stuff but we didn’t play well overall. They had more possession, more shots, more shots on target, higher xG etc etc. We were very soundly beaten and suggesting otherwise is a bit mental. We were 3-0 down at half time , it was hardly a smash and grab.

We played well before the second goal. Their first two goals were from a corner and a goalkeeping error. The game would have been completely different if we don't concede a goal from a corner

But we did, in the first minute. The way the whole game panned out was massively influenced by that first goal, we have no idea what would have happened if we didn’t concede it so we can only judge it on the way it actually went, which wasn’t very well (unless you class being out of a game before half time as a success, which I don’t personally).

You’re a hard man to please!

Honestly Moyes probably fell ass backward into the team he needs to be playing tonight. Garner links up with Ndiaye so much better even if Iliman was off generally tonight. KDH only really ever wants to be in that inside left spot so having Alcaraz out there too to link up with other players is needed. For whatever reason it got Grealish to take up some positions further inside too. And none of it would have happened if Keane was available!

Did I hear that correctly on the BBC, only Arsenal have picked up more away points since Moyes has been here?

I reckon we should sack him and go for some great choices on here, Vitor Pereira or Graham Potter.

That's what their report on the game says ..

"Since Moyes took over in January, only Arsenal (30) have taken more away points than Everton (27) and no team has won more away games (8)"
