Do you feel old?

I don't really know if old is physical or mental, or both

One of my musical heroes is Steve Barker (ex BBC radio Lancashire)

He is 78, he carried on his own radio show independently and carries on to play such new electronic music, and he knows such much about dub and reggae

He never stops looking at new things, and that's what I want to do
Most of my musical heroes are dead , which I guess pretty much proves your point 😂

Not true, running or any form of resistance training ( weights ) is excellent for bone density and your cardiovascular system.
There’s lots of myths about running causing bad knees, needing new hips etc . It’s sad really , while running is not for everyone, with the proper approach to training footwear etc running with moderation undoubtedly gives you a significant health benefit not only in terms of physical measures but cognitive aspects too.

The benefits to mental health that any form of exercise brings, can’t be overstated either.

…..yep, 70 next year and although I’m still in decent health and fully mobile I have realised years are catching up. I rarely drive these days, preferring to walk and certainly not as confident as I was behind the wheel, hard to think when I retired in 2016 I was going to meetings up and down the country.

I also feel people treat you as older, even close family although I have to be on hand for minding grandkids or getting the 2 oldest from school. I was a regular in the pub but haven’t bothered since Covid and 5 eye ops but we’re still on our regular fancy holidays. I don’t like the thought of being infirm, much prefer to ‘wake up dead one morning’, what a nice way to leave a very happy life.

Personally I would say age is more mental than physical, it probably depends on what you have around you in life.

Physicality will be a massive hinder, but if you still carry a positive outlook on life than you will generally feel younger.

Actually I dont know what I'm talking about, because the restriction on your body can play a massive part on your mental side.

Silly post response 🤷‍♂️

Last few years doing diy work around the house & garden i take more breaks than i used to.
The mrs been saying "we're getting old"
My response nowadays is " no we are old"...just come to terms with it.

In my 60's now and still got all my bodily functions intact , been pretty fit most of me life but joints creaking a fair bit now.

One thing I have noticed is the older I get the years really are flying by. Must admit didnt expect that tbh.
But we soldier on.

Physically I'm fine. Socially and emotionally in danger of becoming a grumpy old man.

Not quite in painting roundabouts territory but far more likely to go for beers in the afternoon than for a night out. Also casually eyeing up the Blue Harbour range at M&S...
Nowt wrong with going for beers in the afternoon mate , the majority of our lives for a variety of reasons couldnt do it.
Dont even mind a few in the house either.
Same with holidays we take as many as we want nowadays , mainly becuse we can.
Dont mind M&S or even Next tbh I want more comfortable and casual nowadays.
Boutique & Sports shops are well in the past now
