New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Hated the result yesterday, loved the stadium.

Will be there next Saturday and probably go straight to the stadium as it's a great place to get to early.

Our seats were upper south, same again next game. Id like to try lower south but that's for another time.

I've had a word with the squad today for you mate and they were left in no doubt at all that they'll be getting slapped if they don't win 10-0 for you and your lad and @arch stanton against Forest.

Thanks mate. Appreciate you going to those lengths.

Tbh I'm long enough in the tooth not to expect anything in a result. I do expect effort etc but the result is all part of the drama. Watching Blackburn lose at home to QPR on a miserable Weds night in a miserable game of football reminded me of all the die hard fans all round the country who go to their games full of hope and take their chances with the result.

Btw I had a great Sunday dinner with lashing of ale. Life is good.

You only need to see the food menu’s to see how much has changed, and how the fanbase is changing.
Its not just the new stadium where its changed. Last season at Goodison, especially the final 5 countdown games there was definitely a different type of supporter at and around the ground. Faces I'd never seen and languages and accents I'd never heard in the Lower Gwladys before.

People aren't reacting well to the change in stadium. I understand why they're frustrated but to me, just adapt and find a new routine, even if it's an extra 20 minutes or so.
I can accept a 25 minute walk to and from the ground from my car. But it's the new behaviours that are being trumpeted to us which is sticking in my throat. Its the vibe that is causing many to question if the stadium is for them. I am one of those and its a crying shame.
The South stand was supposed to replicate the Street End but if you're getting stewards telling you to sit down every time there's the possibility of a goal, that's not the matchday experience for me and as im finding out, many others also.

Must be lovely to be there after not going the match for ages, and also not watching it in the wee hours.

I rarely watch in the middle of the night tbh, getting too old for that. Prefer to watch "live" at a reasonable hour.

What is will say though, regardless of the stadium, is the buzz one gets to go to a game and be with 10s of thousands of blues. I took it for granted when I lived in England. I moved to NZ and there are tiny pockets of blues, 1s, 2s maybe 3 if you're on a good day.

First time I returned to UK (be after about 8 years) and I went to a home game and it was surreal to be around so many Evertonians in the same place at the same time. All my lads who've been back have said the same.

Getting sentimental now, time for bed. COYB

How not to create an intimidating atmosphere.
I honestly don’t think this stadium can.

I'd be interested to know, what were the 3 stations Goodison had?
Sandhills (Soccer Bus), Kirkdale, and Bank Hall. Before or after the match, you'd have people jump on the soccer bus, or walk to Kirkdale or Bank Hall.

I know, because I did all three over numerous years. For people walking to the ground heading to Southport, Bank Hall was the best route to take.

If you were walking and heading to town, Kirkby or Ormskirk it was Kirkdale. The soccer bus offered all three without the need of walking.

Now, it's either Sandhills or the walk to Moorfields.

Had a walk round from South Upper yesterday-or bar crawl 🤣- couldnt believe the space on the east stand, bit more compact in the NS. Just think its a case of us punters getting used to new surroundings etc, as my mate said, feels a bit like an awayday atm. Think majority of us are very happy with the HDS, to me, I think its awesome.

The north stand upper has the pillars that support the stand all the way through the concourse, which are surrounded by round shelving. Perfect to rest your pint and food.

Is the family enclosure concourse isolated from the rest of the concourses?
Only been once and it was chokka in there at ½ time, so much so i cba queuing to try any of the food.
Didn't look like there was access further across to the north (or east) but was so busy didn’t even fancy investigating.

Seat Unique exists to make money. They have absolutely no care how they do that, so until the club reins them in they'll carry on selling to whoever is willing to pay.
They’ve obviously bought all the tickets for this season, so will see next season if they still take up the same quantity which wasn’t available for Everton supporters to buy not through them.
