New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

And yet people get all precious when you argue goodison was far easier to get to and from🙄
It was much, much easier to get to and from.

The club and LCC have really dropped a boll*ck with the lacklustre transportation options. It’s horrific to get to and from.

Got a taxi yesterday and had to be dropped off a 15 minute walk away - went in absolutely baltic and soaking.

Downstairs in the concourse was FREEZING. Never felt anything like it

Sorry to hear that mate😔

Whilst BMD hasn't been as bad as I expected, Gooidson had three train stations, multiple bus routes, more flexibility with parking and 360° dispersal.

We now have 180° dispersal, less train station, less bus routes and a lack of parking due to the extended zone. It was always going to be worse.

Yesterday, we got to the ground dry and relatively worm (walking from town), and the train home wasn't too bad either. Our seats weren't too cold, either.

I have not been in the lower South but the density of fans looks low. It just doesn't look full or intimidating

It looks very generic with little character. At the moment it just feels like we've lost the personality of the Street End as well. Opposition players would've hated going over taking corners at that end. Doubt it's the same case now.

That rail seating looks awful on TV, looks like an over crowded bus station with loads of people standing behind steel barriers. We should just have made it seats only.
No .
Don’t care how it looks .
It’s been good to stand and watch a game again.
Never got used to sitting down to watch football, best thing about the new ground is the ability to stand , for me personally .

My view is that it'll take some time for pockets / areas of more vocal and exuberant support to merge together to rebuild that atmosphere.

Let's not forget, at Goodison the Lower Street end wasn't equal in terms of those supporters, with GT3, 4 and 5 being the pivotal areas.

Even within those, it was often core areas towards the back that instigated the chants and brought the ferocity the Street End was infamous for.

These areas grew over years and years, often with people who were a) comfortable with each other, and b) of a similar mindset in terms of support.

Now, fans have been dispersed between areas of the lower and upper. Where I sit in the upper, it's not even close to what the old upper was often like.

Hopefully, the club can start to facilitate moves or swaps for those who wish to be of a similar ilk. I'm already considering taking my son in the lower.

I hope so mate. I also consider the fact we're living in a new world now and that ferocity won't ever return. We all know that even Goodison over the past decade was usually an extremely quiet place, but at least it had the capacity to erupt.

I feel like at 35 I've already became someone who yearns for the old days 😂

Same as a few in here, when the renewal email arrives. I'll be seriously thinking if I want to renew or not. It isn't the same anymore, chore getting to the stadium and back. At goodison, even when we were woeful it was ye, whatever form we're in, whatever the price, I'm renewing. Whereas now, I just can't be arsed. Considered renewing and then put on resale every week, I'd probably get moaned at for that even though I'm not making money out of it.
See what happens anyway. Renewals are just around the corner now.
It isn't the same at GP, it's a pain to get to and from and expensive. If your taking kids it's even worse. Just think about how busy it's gonna be for Arsenal game. If your taking kids you may not get back until 11 30. It's a stadium designed for public transport that doesn't have decent public transport links.

It's not remotely intimidating. Look at those bars - it's like a genteel outing to the theatre.
It's no different to Spurs railed seating IMO.
Problem is brand new stadiums have to comply with same modern regs. All the tosh about proximity to pitch etc was exactly that. I feel the disabled areas at front should've been housed at mid level but I guess that would come with its own issues re wheelchair access - pretty sure they don't enjoy being in the most rain exposed areas although some people like being close to action but it's done now.
Liverpool had it right with their expansion which enabled existing lower tiers to retain pitch proximity even if there were compromises in other respects.

Geordies in the exec boxes behind the family stand tonight block 127, standing there drinking out of wine glasses - which they decanted into coffee cups when challenged - wildly celebrating their goals and causing murder with fans, all of which had kids with them. Stewards stood there watching. Modern football in the hospitality age. Sickening really.

They were Newcastle fans sitting of few rows in front of me in block 130. And a few others sitting around in little groups. Obviously getting their tickets off Seat unique. Celebrated 1st goal and got into arguments with some of our fans. Young family sitting behind them. And couple next to them complained to stewards. They were turfed out of half time. This photo is at 55 mins. The club needs to really get on top of this as there will soon be serious incidents. Thousands on waiting list and people paying good money to sit with away fans is not on.

So we’ve now managed to create a little unofficial neutral zone like Fulham as I said before it will only get worse when we play the like of utd
