Corners - Zonal marking

So frustrating watching us concede another corner In exactly the same manner as we did against Spurs twice. Opposition players wait at the back post unmarked then run across Pickford.

Why are we sticking with the zonal marking!

Last season we had JT, Branthwaite, O'Brien, Doucoure and then a bit of support. Bigger sides are exposing us 'cos N'Diaye, Gana, Alcaraz KDH aren't giants. Our big lads get picked up and then the ball goes isolated against one of the little fellas.

DCL was also pretty good clearing from our box at corners. Mince at scoring, but hey.

Teams have definitely identified a weakness and are exploiting it.

There was one corner in particular in the second half where 3 of Newcastle’s biggest players just surrounded Alcaraz on the back post whilst no one else even bothered to look at them. Absolutely crazy tactics.

Plus tonight our keeper was stuck on his line he had an off game not often more likely he saves us tonight he was at fault O'Brien ki keeper it out for a corner when he never came to collect the ball- he needs to play alongside Keane & drop Tarks who was poor today at the back !

Squad is a patchwork quilt. We're overloaded with offensive midfielders, threadbare for defensive midfield players, barely a fullback worth playing at the club, and our forward options make me miss Jo, Beckford, and Straq.

For the size of some of the big galloots in our team we’re proper crap at headers, both attacking & defending, we are all over the shop.

Never liked zonal marking, never will.

Space never scored a goal, mark the bleeding man.
