Is the club challenging Gana's red card?

Don’t know why anyone is complaining really, it was a straight Red. The rule states you can’t lift your hand to another player. Do I agree with it ? That doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter how many people disagree with it, within the laws of the game it’s a red card.
And in the immortal words of @Joey66

END OFF

To be fair they showed the wording of the law on 3/4 occasions and this is not the law. There was a very specific addition to the 'lift your hand to another player's. It was about force and I am sure there have been incidents where players were pushed in the face, with not much force at all and the ref applied common sense to diffuse the situation.

So, it really is not END OF, as you have not given the whole law in your absolutism review if the situation.

I think we would have appealed by now TBH....

1 red card in 224 appearances for us. Totally out of character.

Ronaldo for Portugal has had 1 red card in 226 appearances slightly less out of character, yet his three match ban is rescinded to one, dependent on future conduct.

I'd appeal it to point out this inequality.
Remember Ghana getting sent off two bookings v Arsenal Oct 2017 at goodison

Oh good, we have turned into RAWK.

Just like they could lip read the telly and became linguistic experts on South American language with regards to Saurez, we can judge force by the eye.

Not really - any hand-to-the-face is usually a red. JameZ got someone from Newcastle sent off for the most minimal contract, Doucoure was sent off like an idiot for doing the same to Kane. The anomaly is that it's between teammates, but most similar accidents result in a red (if you're not a SkY SiX TeAm).

Zero chance it would be overturned because there is clear contact and the letter of the law was applied. The referee could and should have used discretion and given a yellow. But as the red was given there are no grounds for appeal

Absolutely. He should give up his day job to write boring books that nobody will ever read.
@Old Blue 2 please put this rapscallion in his place by sharing your book sales figures. I'm sure that will pipe them down.

50/50 on appealing. The wider media coverage seems to back a "it was harsh" narrative. But when does sense and fairness come into things with the powers that be? They'll be checking the rule book to aee if they could dock us points ;)

I don't think we should appeal, as it was not a clear and obvious error. The ref applied his interpretation of the rules, which I strongly disagree with. It was very strange how quick he made the decision, but there is still no point in appealing.

Yes, they do, and I don't agree with it. They literally showed the rule about 3/4 times on screen, on Monday night. The judgement is the refs view of the force.

There have also been many examples of where a player has raised his arm to a player face and not been sent off, it is subjective. What is the situation, what is the force. By raising your arms you are making the ref make a decision, sometimes they will send you off, sometimes they will have a chat and/or yellow. I believe Monday was a time for a quick chat.
