The Ashes 2025

Top order piling the pressure on constantly.
Not even runs and not enough rest for the bowlers

Aussies knew this was well below par. The 4th innings chat was a bit silly on day 2. Best time to bat is late today and into tomorrow but our batsmen didn't show the patience and fight required

If they don't improve and read the game situation better then this is a 5 nil series

I know they're searching for a wicket but the bowlers heads dropped way too early. When I played I'd put my body on the line and leave nothing behind defending 50 ffs. Poor body language from all involved. But yes, definitely the batsmen to blame.

England won in 10/11 mainly cos they were a far superior set of players at the time but their preparation was spot on playing tough cricket matches in Aus conditions before the first test. I get the calendar is packed and there is no money in it but they have to start looking at that.

Got a horrible feeling they've blown the series on Day 2 here. This is going to be a shattering defeat. Massive pressure on the second test and 1 down with Cummins to come back.

Sigh. Its mental pressure. Its test cricket, its supposed to be the most pressure a cricketer should feel, and the Aussie batsmen have been let off. England needed to bowl like they did on day 1, and they dropped their heads after 10 overs. Just a shambles all round. Hopes a dangerous thing and all that.

At 100 for 1 they would have expected to chase 300 plus. I think the pressure was a lot less on the chase than it could and should have been. It's just not a normal 4th innings chase when it's day 2 and the wicket is at its best.

But that doesnt mean it should be made as easy for them as it has. Don't get me wrong this in on the batsmen but they've given up in the field an hour ago.
