Buying a striker based on goals from international games is doing ourselves a potential massive disservice. He got 14goals last season in the Netherlands, which might sound impressive until you remember its half the amount Vincent Janssen scored in the dutch league - a player borderline incapable of scoring in the PL.

Really don’t get this view when you look at the midfielders he’s consistently played and bought at his clubs.

Osman, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, Bilyaletdinov, Mata, Kudus, Paqueta, Grealish, Dewsbury Hall.

Yeah he had the occasional Fellaini and Soucek type, but most of the time he buys too many diminutive schemers who don’t have any pace. If he bought a few more big grocks who could run and hit a ball we’d probably do a bit better away from home at times.

Not at the agreed price, he’s done nowhere near enough to warrant the reported £50m, if we could get them down to £20m then yes, but anything north of that for a 30-year old would be ridiculous.

No! He's older than McTominay who's age everybody seems to be moaning about on here. Would I spend money on Mc'T or Grealish now? I would at this moment take McTominay if both were the same money. Osman Carsley Neville Gana Garner not an ounce of pace or height between them.

Fellaini and Soucek are really the exception to the players he normally plays. I don’t think Moyes would ever have bought Onana for example, and it’s telling that he’s replaced Doucoure with KDH.

It will be interesting to see what he does with Rohl and Iroegbunam because there’s two players with pace height and power who can both handle the ball well. Alcaraz is another factor in the mix, Armstrong too when he returns.
