6 + 2 Point Deductions

Another idea that's come 30yrs too late to the party.

It could have made a difference back then if it was a Uefa implementation on all European leagues.

Now, the clubs that made the earlier moves are already too big and powerful for it to really make a difference.

Their is always ways around it now, like increased player sponsorship money the players could receive to bridge a missing gap in salary caps.

Do you want the best, most attractive league in the world, or the most competitive. (Again that would have had to of been in place since the 90's)

The neutral global "Fan" just wants the "Greatest League" outlook for the league/team they watch, rather than more equal grounding.

Saudi Arabia cash wouldn't effect it in the short term, the players that want that have already made that decision.

Europe is the major force, do you want a realistic chance playing for your national team or does greed eventually kick in. Not sure i can see that making a real difference.

The "Beautiful Game" has aready evolved to the detriment of that title.

Big clubs are already prepared for these kind of scenario's.

As always, too late to the party.

reading this article earlier about the Squad Cost Ratio's (SCR) stating that 85% can be spent on player costs (Transfer fees and wages), but that sanctions would not be imposed unless a club exceeded 115% and even then it would be a fine!

So really the line is not at 85%, its at 115% isnt it? And clubs will play up to that line, there will be some that are happy to go over that line if all they face is a fine.

If you look at our data, the 23/24 accounts state that we brought in £186.9 million.
I would like to think this is going to be more this season, based on the new stadium and new commercial deals, but based on this we could spend just under £158.9m on wages and transfers. Our wage bill for 23/24 was £71.7m, which would leave £87.2m on transfers and new players wages. Remembering that transfer fees are spread over a maximum of 5 years, which means that the club could sign players worth much higher than that amount overall.

if we were going up to the 115% line though we would be looking at £214.9m as potential spend and £143m on transfers and new wages.

The worrying thing about the proposed changes is it will just have a "prune juice" effect on the league overall. So players that are valued at £25m today, just become £50m player and players who are on £80k a week to £150k

Our wage bill was not that amount.
You need to double it.
