Yeh they need to be “specialist” polos to do it properly. I get mine from Legend London. They make them tighter around the biceps/shoulders but not around the gut.
You don’t even need to go through all that effort, mate.

You can take any collared shirt, dress shirt, or jacket to a half decent tailor, and he should be able to ‘pitch’ the sleeves, or the shoulders for you.

I like how you say I don’t need to go through the effort of buying my tops from a different shop but going to a tailor to alter my clothes isn’t an effort??? 😂

Not if you're on a first name basis with your tailor... 😜

If he's a good 'un, he'll sort you out like a boss. 😉

It never got better than this......

For work off the peg Hugo Boss or a couple of Alexandra Wood bespoke that I picked up about 10 years ago before wife and kids came along and absorbed all my money. All dark blue. In winter occasionally tweed separates by Walker Slater and a needlepoint overcoat by Cordings. Shirts by Taylors of Yorkshire, although they're a bugger to iron so also some easy care Charles Tyrwhitt. Ties always single block colour, no pattern - Thomas Pink are reliable for that. On a Friday I may wear a bow tie, although Matt Smith's Dr Who look rather ruined that, especially with tweeds, as comparisons are inevitably drawn, which is annoying. Black shoes by Loake, browns by Oliver Sweeney, re-souled with rubber every couple of years.

Sounds dickish, but I just like to dress. Once you've bought the main stuff it lasts a lifetime provided you don't put on too much weight - i rarely buy clothes apart from to replace shirts once every couple of years.

At the weekend single colour shirt, jeans, sk8 trainers. Everton shirt on match days.
