I am not understanding that one! I would be afraid of breaking a finger because I couldn’t feel them.My brother said the same about putting your hands in a bucket of cold water before starting on a building site.

I hated games lessons at school especially in the winter when we were expected to play hockey whatever the weather. No gloves allowed and canvas hockey boots. Fingers numb and feet soaking wet. The games mistresses sat watching in the pavilion drinking coffee but we were expected to carry on regardless. The sports field was about a mile from the school so it was a miserable walk back to school for dinner. My hands were still so cold by the time I sat at the table I could barely lift the knife and fork, woe betide anyone caught trying to warm their hands on radiators though.I was talking about playing football matches in the snow the other day. Back in the day it happened often , we just got on with it. It was great for my ball control, push the ball ahead and the snow kept it close and it didn’t roll away , it was like it was glued to your feet and I looked like Messi carving through defences , well he hadn’t been born then but you know what I mean.
Gloomy , wet day here, physio appointment for me to help me get back running. Have a good day all.
I must admit I’ve never tried it myself, it’s just a temporary immersion, then apparently your hands quickly feel warmer when you take them out . If I get a running injury I do sometimes use hot water/ cold water treatment on it when in the shower and it helps. . But basically I hate the cold!!I am not understanding that one! It must be about getting the blood to rush into your hands after the vessels contract in the cold water. There endeth my scientific experiment though as I won’t be trying itI must admit I’ve never tried it myself, it’s just a temporary immersion, then apparently your hands quickly feel warmer when you take them out . Here I was out working at -24° colder than the freezer on your fridge !Being a builder in the winter couldn’t have been much fun.
What labour camp was that ?I hated games lessons at school especially in the winter when we were expected to play hockey whatever the weather. No gloves allowed and canvas hockey boots. Good morning all on this rainy one here . I did the plough other than the lifting mechanism when I don't want to move snow just the quad ,I am awaiting one from China . I have noticed more and more that the small things are not in shops any more just get them form Ebay they tell me .Sad but a sign of the times .Anyway I mentioned my sucess withe the plough and was promptly told to change the oil in the snow blower ! No rest for the wicked .
I watched this this morning ,I immediately thought of @Armaghtoffee wandering aimlessly around Liverpool with spare time ,looks interesting but no bar in the cellar ;-)
Have a great day all COYB
I was forced to play rugby at school. If your kit wasn't dirty by the end of the match the sadistic gym teacher (aren't they all ) made us dive into mud.I hated games lessons at school especially in the winter when we were expected to play hockey whatever the weather. I believe blue is quoting me with ‘aimlessly’. This is how I described my wander without planned destination around Liverpool the other week. It’s the best way to find new things I find.I can't imagine AT doing anything "aimlessly" . He seems a focused fella
You can tell he wasn’t the one washing the kits after!I was forced to play rugby at school. If your kit wasn't dirty by the end of the match the sadistic gym teacher (aren't they all ) made us dive into mud.Halcyon days !
